Sinhgad College of Engineering is generally considered a Tier 2 institution. It is well-regarded in Maharashtra and has good infrastructure and faculty, but it may not have the same level of national recognition or research output as Tier 1 colleges, which typically include institutes like the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and National Institutes of Technology (NITs). Tier 2 colleges like Sinhgad offer quality education and opportunities for students, but they usually have a more regional focus.

The Universal Group of Institutions (UGI) in Mohali is considered one of the better engineering colleges in the region, with positive feedback regarding its infrastructure and course offerings. It is affiliated with Punjab Technical University (PTU) and approved by the AICTE and the Punjab government

The Universal Group of Institutions is mostly a Tier 2 institution. It was started in the year 2009 as a private college affiliated with the Punjab Technical University, which offers various programs, including but not limited to engineering and management. Though UGI is known for high-quality education and also well-qualified faculty members, national level recognition or prestige is not at par with Tier 1. UGI - provides a sound practical knowledge and skills base, though it certainly does more direct opposition to regional colleges than really with top-class universities.
