SP College: A century of tradition and academic excellence in the heart of Pune.

Placements: While top companies like TCS, Wipro, and Cognizant visit, the median package for UG students sits around 2.4-3.0 LPA. It isn't a placement hub like engineering colleges, many students prefer going for higher studies (M.Sc. /MBA) or UPSC/MPSC preparation.

Infrastructure: The 25-acre campus is a rare green lung in the heart of Sadashiv Peth. It features a mix of historic stone buildings and newer labs. Highlights include an Olympic-size swimming pool, a massive playground, and a well-stocked central library, pretty good.

Faculty: Most senior faculty members hold PhDs and are recognised research guides. The departments of Statistics, Psychology, and Chemistry are particularly noted for having some of the best minds. Unlike larger universities, SP's faculty is known to be friendly and student-oriented. They often mentor students for competitive exams like IIT, JAM, UPSC, or MPSC.

Other: Urmee is the primary annual cultural festival of SP College. It usually takes place in late January or February. It’s a massive 3-4 day celebration featuring dance, music, fashion shows, and drama. For students in Pune, Urmee is considered one of the top inter-collegiate fests to attend.

I'm dissatisfied with the college.

Placements: My CGPA was 8.03, but the placement percentage is very low, about 1-2%. The college doesn't provide any internships for students, and there are very few companies that come for placement. Bajaj Finserv is one of the few companies that come for placement. The college doesn't provide any specific roles for the students.

Infrastructure: The facilities they provide are very minimal. There is no Wi-Fi for students, and the canteen services are very bad compared to other colleges.

Faculty: The exam pattern of this college is very poor. The internal exam is worth 15 marks, and the external exam is worth 35 marks. This means that students don't take their studies seriously, and are only there to pass the time. The college should increase the marks for the internal exam so that students take their studies more seriously.

Other: Only one annual festival is held.

Our college is very good.

Placements: Placements are not good and well-developed in our college. Only a few companies visit our college to recruit students. The highest salary package offered ranges between 4 LPA - 4.5 LPA. The lowest salary package offered is 2 LPA. The salary packages are very low compared to other colleges.

Infrastructure: Our classrooms are quite huge and comfortable. The infrastructure of our college is quite developed. Our canteen is not good. The condition of the hostel is average. Sports are developing every day because we have good staff members for sports.

Faculty: All faculty members are very supportive and helpful. Exams are difficult. It is an autonomous college, so it is difficult to clear all subjects in the same semester.

Other: Our college conducts extracurricular activities which are very helpful for students' development. Our college organises many events and fests like Urmi, Maven, and science fests.

An amazing college to take admission to get the best education.

Placements: Almost 70% of students of our college are placed in top companies. The highest salary offered to freshers is Rs.60000 per month and the lowest salary offered is Rs.30000 per month. Top recruiting companies like Cipla hire students.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our campus is modern and classy. It provides everything for all students such as Wi-Fi, labs, classrooms, a playground, and a huge library. It's a 3-floor library and all books are available in the library. The hostel is good but eight students can get admission to the hostel.

Faculty: Faculty members of all departments are very nice, talented, and qualified.

Other: An identity card is compulsory for every student.

Really good college festivals are celebrated.

Placements: Good amount of placements are offered with many reputed companies. You can give an interview after 3rd semester. Most companies visited are Tcs, Gemini. The highest package is around 6 lacs and the average is 3 to 3.5 lacs. About 30% of students get placements. My plan is to find a job in Accounting.

Infrastructure: Hostel is average rooms are average and food quality is also not so good. Sp college is well-known for celebrating festivals like Shivjayanti, Urme and days mostly conducted in February. College libraries are huge almost all types of books are available. Classrooms got an e-learning facilities and modern benches. Different types of sports are available but college is famous for cricket.

Faculty: Teachers are helpful and many of them are cooperative. The cost of the study is not much for my course. Overall 5000 are enough for one year. Government scholarships are also available For caste. MahaDept famous scholarship given by government. Also many private scholarships are available. Most jobs are offered for Accounting related by companies like Tcs.

College is absolutely satisfactory for their teaching method and quality.

Placements: There are average students were placed in my course. Lot of companies in Pune offered for the recruitment. Almost 80% students got internship from my college in B.Sc. Chemistry course. There are mainly top roles offered by companies in my college with satisfactory package.

Infrastructure: College infrastructure is amazing with provided library, open cafeteria and peaceful atmosphere for students. There are modern classrooms with modern facilities like projector. Hostel is very impressive with meal and residence. Canteen is the best ever.

Faculty: Teachers of the college are knowledgeable their teaching method is very unique and impressive. Also very systematic and simple. Course is relevant and makes students always ready for the industry. Semester end exams are not so hard because of the teaching method and quality.

Other: They should improve the crowd in campus and college. There should be much events now they are not organising much events. And there should be more extracurricular activities for students help with their need.

It is one of the best colleges in Pune for B.Sc.

Placements: Not many students with just B.Sc. degree got placed through college since there are barely any companies willing to hire a person with just a bachelor's degree with no work experience. You can find quite a good job on your own since you're from SP College. But most of the students I know chose to continue with M.Sc. If one is looking for a job after B.Sc. itself, then they have to do it on their own, as per my knowledge about SP College.

Infrastructure: The department is quite good, and so are the labs and classrooms. The chemistry department is a building of three floors, with 1 lab on each floor. All the labs are well-equipped and clean. Teachers are supportive. There's no Wi-Fi in college. There's one common library which is considered to be one of the best in Pune. Study halls are quite spacious. The college hostels, both for girls and boys, are inside the campus itself. The hostel area is very refreshing. The girls' hostel building is almost like a house. The canteen is old fashioned, but there is another place called an open canteen which is really nice, you can even sit and study there. Surroundings are calm and yet energetic. SP College has a good sports department, and it even has a gym. Though I have not visited it. We have a swimming pool which even allows people from outside the college (extra charges). SP College has a really big playground.

Faculty: The teachers are very helpful, well-qualified and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is amazing, but in the end, one has to be sincere enough to attend college regularly. There is no compulsion for attendance. Chemistry course has always been and still is in huge demand. But according to me, doing M.Sc. is always beneficial. Semester exams are quite difficult in Pune University. But now, the college is autonomous. So, there's a possibility that exams would be even more difficult. The passing percentage is 40%.

Other: I personally chose this course because I always wanted to go for pure sciences. SP College is one of the top colleges for B.Sc. in Pune. There are many events and fests from different departments in SP College from December to the end of February. The most vibrant ones are Maven and Urmi, while the college has another vibe during the fest season.
