The faculty members are good, but the campus placements are poor.

Placements: The college is good. The teaching staff is well-experienced and supportive. They support a lot during projects and seminars. But the campus is poor, and job opportunity is poor. I have attended two interviews at my college, and from them, I got selected for one company, but I didn't get an offer letter. I have contacted the placement officer but he told you can contact the company directly, so I have contacted the company, but they did not respond to my call and email. Most of the students were happy when they get a job, but no one got an offer letter. For seniors, they did not even provide the interview itself. Some people got the offer letter, but that is consultancy as we have to pay Rs. 35,000 to that consultancy.

Infrastructure: The campus is large, but the maintenance and roads are very poor. In fee slip, they received the Wi-Fi fee, but there is no Wi-Fi connection on the campus. There is no medical facility at all near the campus. There is one sports room, but that is small. The sports materials are old on the campus, and there is no proper training, but the physical director is supportive, but the college didn't support him. There is no proper fan facility in classrooms. There is no proper canteen facility as there are only two canteens in that you can get only dosa. I must say in the matter of infrastructure, our college is poor.

Faculty: The teaching faculty members are good and knowledgeable. They support the students during labs and seminars. Even lab attendees are very knowledgeable. The teaching quality is up to the mark, and they provide the proper study materials and notes. In our branch, I think we have enough staff as compared to the students. There is no such industry exposure to industrial trip or company visit. Overall in our branch, the teaching staff is good, and even lab attendees are also having good knowledge of subjects.

Other: There are no such events on the campus. Every year, we only celebrate one fest, and it is named as Spoorthi.

A satisfied engineer from SJM Institute of Technology, Karnataka.

Placements: The college faculty is good enough to call some reputed companies for the placements. Since the IT department is going through a low time, the number of placed students is not too satisfactory, but their efforts are appreciable. This institute may be referred for its quality knowledge where all the day you will feel the engineering environment.

Infrastructure: This institute is a reputed technical institute where all the needful facilities are available like the Wi-Fi facility in the hostels as well, a playground, the girl's and boy's hostels, many indoor game premises, a quality mess and some cafeteria are situated within the college premises.

Faculty: I have completed my engineering in electronics and communication stream and all the faculty members including the lab assistants are skilled persons. Since the college is affiliated with VTU, hence talking about the course structure is worthless. This college is under the ten rankings for the automobile and mechanical engineering streams.

Other: Overall, I can summerise as you can join this college if you want to be a skilled engineer and if you are not looking only for the degree alone. If so, then you should try this institution for sure. Since Chitradurga is a very scenic place, you will enjoy your study period as well. As stated above, you will enjoy your studies with some adventure as well.

SJMIT college - good and average college.

Placements: The placements offered for our batch is worst. We went out for the placements. The highest salary offered by the companies is 1.8 LPA. Only startups and call centres visit the campus. There is no internship in our college. So it's better they improve their placement method.

Infrastructure: There are no proper labs and Wi-Fi. Morethan the lecturers, the attendees have more knowledge. The library is nice, but they will issue only two books per individual. That too for general students two books but sc/st receives four books. No medical facilities, no sports and games. The classrooms are nice. The canteens are bad. The hostel rooms are nice.

Faculty: The faculty members are nice but play politics in that also. They are helpful, qualified and knowledgeable. The teaching methods are bad, and they will just teach you five lessons out of 8. The student's to teachers ratio is 20:1. There is no industry exposure. No course curriculum. If the teachers encourage the students, then people will do wonders. The teachers will only demotivate the students.

Other: College is at an average level. It’s the only college that has been established in Chitradurga town. College faculty members are very good and kind in nature. College placements are nil. No placement will be given. Even though it has 35 years of establishment it lags behind the placements, campus. Hostel blocks are also not good. I don't recommend this college

Other: One of the worst engineering collages. Even though they say it is more than 30 years old, there aren't any facilities or the infrastructure that an engineering college should have. Placement is one of the worst aspects. Students had to inform PO (Placement Officer) about the pool campus selections and that person didn't assist even on that also. No IT companies visited the campus for placements. PO had arranged to bring water purifier companies for "campus selection". Don't have the latest software's for conducting lab classes. Also no motivation is given for students. In short, no placement assistance, no internet library, no books. Don't join.
