T. John Group of Institutions BE/ BTech admission is based on candidates' valid scores in KCET/ JEE / COMEDK/ AIEEE scores. However, candidates must note that only students from Karnataka domicile can get admission to BE courses with KCET scores at T. John College. Students who are not from Karnataka state are required to appear in the JEE / COMEDK/ AIEEE entrance examination to be considered for admission.

John Group of Institutions include that candidates must complete their Class 12 with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects, and Chemistry/Computer Science/ Electronics/ Information Technology/ Biology/Informatics Practices/ Biotechnology/ Technical Vocational subject/ Agriculture/ Engineering Graphics/ Business Studies/ Entrepreneurship as additional subject. Karnataka PGCET exam is conducted once every year. The exam score is valid for one exam session only. Karnataka PGCET is an offline exam with as many as 100 MCQs to be answered within 150 minutes.  Karnataka Post Graduate Common Entrance Test is administered annually by Karnataka Examination Authority. Karnataka PGCET acts as the gateway exam for admission into PG courses, including MBA, MCA, M.E., M.Tech. and M.Arch in the state of Karnataka.
