Review of THDC Institute of Hydropower Engineering and Technology (THDC-IHET).
Placements: It does not require a higher percentage to get into this college. The high package is also not offered in the college. The top roles are offered in our course. THDC Limited Corporation company visits the college for internships of students.
Infrastructure: There are all the facilities for all courses and the particular department. All the labs, classrooms, and library are well-maintained. The mess food is way much better than other government colleges. Sports and games are good. Medical facilities are also provided.
Faculty: Faculty members are knowledgeable and well-qualified. The course curriculum is relevant, and it also makes students industry-ready. Semester exams are conducted by UTU, which are not much harder and not much easier. 40% is the pass percentage.
Other: I chose the course civil engineering because I love creative things and civil engineering is full of creation.

It is an improving and emerging college of Uttarakhand Technical University.
Placements: The college is still evolving, and the placement rate of these developing colleges are not that high. I am from the civil engineering department, and the placements offered for the students of these branches are very low. Placements for CSE and ECE departments are good. Every student gets the opportunity to represent themselves in non-core placement drives. The TPO takes placements seriously, and we hope the placement rate gets improved in future.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is quite good. Mechanical and civil branches are assigned one block, and ECE and CSE branches are allocated with another block. There is also a separate block available for the electrical department. The first year department has its own separate block. The entire campus is Wi-Fi enabled, and the Wi-Fi speed is very good (approximately 10MBps). The lab facilities are available here, and the instruments are new since TEQIP had undertaken the college for the next 3 years. There are around 5-6 canteens available inside the campus. Classrooms have a good occupancy rate, and a few of the classrooms have their own digital aids. Hostel facility is available for both girls and boys. There were some problems at the beginning of the course, but most of the issues are resolved now.
Faculty: Since TEQIP had undertaken the college, faculty members available now are highly educated and experts in their field. Faculty members are from prestigious institutes like IITs, NITs and some state government colleges. The quality of teaching had certainly improved, and students are keenly interested in studies now. There is a digital platform available in each department for the students to learn well. The student to faculty ratio in ECE and CSE departments is 30:1, and the student to faculty ratio in the civil and mechanical departments is 60:1.
Other: A few clubs such as cultural club, literary club, fine arts, and Spic Macay, etc., are available in our college, so the campus life is quite engaging. Fest is organised every year in April or March. Connectivity is good, and even the relationship between juniors and seniors is good.

Dissatisfied with the college, faculty, placements, management and everything.
Placements: The college doesn't provide any placement opportunities. Only two companies have visited the campus, and only selected candidates who have good relations with the director got placed. The deserving students got rejected. Even those two companies have visited the campus just to hire the students of the civil branch, but no companies visited the college to hire the students of other branches.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college was average. They are constructing buildings every year, and since we were from the first batch of this college, we were the first users. We have faced many problems. Classrooms were good, but the labs were not well-equipped. But after all, the college was good when compared with other new colleges in our state.
Faculty: In our first year, the faculty members were good, but there were only a few faculty members to teach in the 2nd and 3rd year. We have only three teachers, and we had to study the toughest and important subjects on our own. There were no faculty members to guide us for our project, and the teachers were also not qualified.

I'm not satisfied with the college as the placements are poor.
Placements: The college doesn't provide any placement opportunities for students of the civil engineering department. The college needs to organise many events. They need to hire many faculty members. They should conduct many programmes so that the students can keep themselves busy.
Infrastructure: The college doesn't provide any Wi-Fi facility. I've no complaints about classrooms, and the college doesn't have smart classes. I'm satisfied with the library. The sports facilities are average. The college needs to be maintained well, and the college needs to provide many facilities. The college doesn't have any canteen. Hostel rooms are good.
Faculty: Faculty members in the college are very helpful and supportive. But the student to faculty ratio is very low. The college needs to provide the industry exposure, and they should conduct the personality development classes regularly. The college needs to train the students for GATE exam. Every week, they should conduct different aptitude tests.
Other: Satisfied with the events and fests organised in the college.

No hope for civil students but a faint chance for electrical and computer branches.
Placements: For the students in civil and mechanical branches, there is no hope for any placement from the college. On the other hand, electrical and computer branches are getting placement on the regular basis. Companies like wipro and TCS had recently visited our college and had given job opportunities to number of students. After getting good response from the students, companies are eager to visit our college next year.
Infrastructure: Our college has a nice infrastructure as compared to other government colleges, as it was built in the year 2011. Each classes provided with smart class facilities. The whole campus is Wi-Fi enabled, though it never works properly. Separate hostel's provided for boys and girls with full facilities. There is no room for sports lover, as there is no indoor and outdoor facilities are provided. The only game which is played is volleyball.
Faculty: All the departments have well qualified professors, graduated from several iits and nits and currently pursuing Ph.D. in their respective subjects. Both verbal and non-verbal methods are used to convey the teaching. The teacher to student ratio is quite well. There is 8 to 10 faculty members in each department.
Other: Fest is conducted every year but the arrangements are not upto the mark, comparing it to the amount of money taken from the students. The campus surrounding is quite nice for studying as it is peaceful, but it lacks in facilities like shops and stationary etc.

If you are looking for a college where you can chill out, THDC-IHET will be your place.
Placements: I don't think that in whole Uttarakhand, there is a scope for campus placements in the civil branch. So you only have the choice to prepare for the state exams, or you can prepare for GATE and ESE as well. For that, you must start preparing from the 5th semester itself.
Infrastructure: The college is in the developing stage, so I don't think anyone would be happy about its infrastructure. The computer lab is quite satisfactory. Medical facilities are also available. The mess is bad. There are no sports at all. Even studies are not up to the mark.
Faculty: In my batch, we never got good faculty except for RCC and environmental engineering (Sameer sir). He is one of the best faculty as well as a friend of the students. So the civil might be your favourite branch.
Other: There is a college fest conducted, formerly named as Escalade, but now the name has been changed.

Should opt this college, if you are looking for good study at a reasonable price.
Placements: I would say, there are no placements in civil and mechanical departments. The student depended on GATE, but there is little placement in computer engineering, electronics and communication engineering, electrical engineering, but it is better than another government college which is under UTU (Uttarakhand technical university).
Infrastructure: As it was built in the year 2011, so it has a nice infrastructure which is good as compared to other government colleges. It is fully enabled with the Wi-Fi. Also, you will have all the necessary labs available here. The classrooms are well-maintained and well-furnished with proper ventilation. The medical facilities are provided 24/7 as a medical van is always there, anytime you can call it, and take to the nearby medical centre. As it is situated on the mountain, so sports and games are little less.
Faculty: Our college has the necessary amount of faculty available in all the departments. They are well-qualified. Most of them are from IITs, and other are qualified from good colleges, as it is a government institute, so the good calibre staff is provided for teaching. Use of both verbal and non-verbal methods are used to convey the teaching. The teacher to student ratio is quite well. There are 15 faculty members in each department.
Other: In every year, it conducts fest, but another event held every year. The campus surrounding is quite nice for study as it is peaceful, but you would find the little difficulty in opting other facilities like shops. Every year, the EBC, ST, and Sc students are provided with the scholarships up to Rs. 55,000 and you will be involved in a lot of extracurricular activities as it has 3 to 4 every month.

The campus is good, but I am not satisfied with the facilities.
Placements: There is no placement record yet in our college as 2 or 3 companies visit the campus for placements. For the civil branch, campus placements are zero. The college should improve a lot in training and placements. It sends students to participate in pool campus drives. But if they invite companies in our campus for placements, then there will be better results. Students have the calibre to crack the interviews, but they never got a chance here.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is good, and the campus is huge, but it is not properly utilised. Labs are new, but there are no staff members to teach how to use the equipment. Wi-Fi facility doesn't work propely., and even the hostel has no Wi-Fi facility. However, the library has a lot of books, but new additions are not available. The college must require a playground for all-round development of the students.
Faculty: The permanent faculty members are very good, but contractual faculty members come to classes only to do time pass. There is a lot of requirement of good teaching staff members in our college, along with lab assistants. The college has a good strength of students, but the teacher to student ratio is very low. Even there is a lot of communication gap between teachers and students.
