Frequently Asked Questions

Q:   What is the Scope of Humanities and Social Science courses?
A:

Humanities as a stream provides a wide range of courses that can be studied after completing their 12th grade. Pursuing any of these degrees prepares you to understand the various levels of humanities and, as a result, carve out an appropriate job path. Candidates in the humanities can apply for positions in the government sector, such as banking firms, government ministries, legal firms, and political analysts.

Content Writer, Civil Services, Human Resource Manager, Defense Services, Lawyer, Journalist, Counsellor, and Therapist positions are available. As freshers, humanities graduates can expect to earn between INR 2-6 LPA.

Q:   Which Aviation degree programme should I pursue?
A:

It depends on what candidates mean by an Aviation professional. By far the easier and better job is that of a pilot. If candidates are young (aged 12-18), it is recommended that they pursue a general course of study. Take as many Maths and Science courses as possible. It may appear unusual to study Geography and Geology, but candidates would want to know what they are looking at.

The most common aviation degree programme is the Bachelor of Science in Aviation. This degree provides a broad understanding of the Aviation industry, covering topics such as aviation regulations, safety, management, and operations. Graduates with this degree can pursue careers as pilots, air traffic controllers, airport managers, and more.

Overall, there is a strong infrastructure, supportive faculty members, and a placement cell.
Placements: Around 60-70% of BCA students are placed through campus placement. The highest package is 6.5 LPA offered by TCS Digital, the lowest package is 2.2 LPA offered by small start-up companies, and the average package is 4-4.5 LPA. The recruiting companies are TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Cognizant, Accenture, Capgemini, Tech Mahindra, and Mindtree.
Infrastructure: The hostels provide AC rooms, a Wi-Fi study room, a canteen, and a cafeteria. They also provide a culture fest and sports for hostel students. The good food is available, and it is not that bad for eating. They also provide good medical services from their own hospital.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable, holding postgraduate degrees and certificates in their respective fields, like AI and data analysis. They all have their own certificate, they are friendly, and they clarify doubts, if we have any. We can clarify the doubts with our faculty at any time, and they will help us. They are not just a faculty, they are also a good friend and support at any time.
Other: The reason I chose this course because I like to enter the IT field, like computer application, to build software and data analysis in this kind of field. I am willing to become a software engineer, that's why I chose this course.

My insights Yenepoya College review.
Placements: For my course, there are at least 140 students. Companies like IBM, TCS, and Microsoft. Many skilled got directly recruited by companies like TCS, IBM, and Microsoft.
Infrastructure: In our college, we have classrooms with AC and Smart TVs, so students can study easily by seeing that. We have computer labs with more than 100 computers, and we also have a library with various books, including study materials. The quality of food in the hostel and canteen is very good, and we have chicken dishes four days a week. There is also a medical room for students who get injured or ill.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. They are highly trained and provide question banks for exams. The course gives us all the basics and some application-level knowledge, helping us to be ready for study. Semester exams are difficult to an extent, and to pass, we need at least 40%.
Other: I like the IT field, that's why I chose this course. There are many extracurricular activities in our college. The course fee is Rs. 1,30,000 per year, and students who have a scholarship get 25% off. 20% of students get scholarships.

It has good facilities and faculty members. The way of its system is not good.
Placements: There are some average placements. I don't know much to say about placement because I have not gone through that. I only have the knowledge of what others are saying about them. I only heard that they do not have that many placements, which is the only thing I know about placements at my college.
Infrastructure: Our college has the best facilities and infrastructure. I loved the ambiance. It has a good library as well. It maintains a beautiful garden inside the campus itself. The vibe we are getting from there is something special for me. Overall, I would rate 8 out of 10 for it.
Faculty: Teachers are just above average for me. I do not like some of teachers' behavior and teaching. There are some staff members who are not that good at their job and they harass students.
Other: There are few leaves for students. They mainly focus on the Muslim festivals and their religious supporting leaves. I am not blaming the religion, but they are focusing on those leaves only. It should also think about other students as well. It also charges a difficult amount as a fine. Events and sports are below average. They really don't push for these items and I haven't seen any events happen in my college for 3-4 months.

To talk about Yenepoya as a student.
Placements: I am still studying so I cannot say about the placements. But our college provides placements and BCA students have scops in IT fields. Our college provides extra add-on courses with the certification of companies like IBM, Microsoft, and TCS iON, I think it will be helpful.
Infrastructure: We have a lab that is fully updated and the whole college is air conditioning. It provides Wi-Fi for the academic needs. College also provides hostel facilities which are better in my opinion because of the safety. And compared to other hostels the food quality is good.
Faculty: Faculty members are well trained and highly graduated so it has been really helpful for students. Exams are conducted semester-wise. The pass percentage is 40% which is needed for a student who is trying to just pass the degree. Exams are easy.
Other: I chose this course because I wanted to be a software developer.

Decent Learning Experience with Supportive Teachers.
Placements: The placement performance for this course indicates that approximately 10% of the students, which amounts to 5 out of the total 50 enrolled, secure job offers upon completion of their studies. The average package offered to the students is around 2 Lacs per annum (LPA), reflecting the current market scenario and the demand for the skills taught in the course. While the highest package offered is somewhat 8 LPA, some IT companies from Bangalore are the most recruiting.
Infrastructure: The college infrastructure is basic, but the computer lab is well-equipped for practical work. Hostel facilities are average; food in the mess is okay, while the canteen offers better options. Medical aid is basic, and sports facilities are limited but functional.
Faculty: The teachers are friendly, qualified, and knowledgeable, making learning engaging. The curriculum, especially in Robotics and Artificial Intelligence, covers industry-relevant topics, preparing students for future roles. Semester exams are not too hard; basic understanding is enough to pass.
