Frequently Asked Questions

Q:   What is the Scope of Humanities and Social Science courses?
A:

Humanities as a stream provides a wide range of courses that can be studied after completing their 12th grade. Pursuing any of these degrees prepares you to understand the various levels of humanities and, as a result, carve out an appropriate job path. Candidates in the humanities can apply for positions in the government sector, such as banking firms, government ministries, legal firms, and political analysts.

Content Writer, Civil Services, Human Resource Manager, Defense Services, Lawyer, Journalist, Counsellor, and Therapist positions are available. As freshers, humanities graduates can expect to earn between INR 2-6 LPA.

Q:   Which Aviation degree programme should I pursue?
A:

It depends on what candidates mean by an Aviation professional. By far the easier and better job is that of a pilot. If candidates are young (aged 12-18), it is recommended that they pursue a general course of study. Take as many Maths and Science courses as possible. It may appear unusual to study Geography and Geology, but candidates would want to know what they are looking at.

The most common aviation degree programme is the Bachelor of Science in Aviation. This degree provides a broad understanding of the Aviation industry, covering topics such as aviation regulations, safety, management, and operations. Graduates with this degree can pursue careers as pilots, air traffic controllers, airport managers, and more.

College is good and you can experience after join.
Placements: I don’t know about the first point, but in my class, there are 51 students, and there is also another class with the same course. For the second point, my course’s per semester fee is Rs. 75,000. As for companies, IBM and TCS are some of the top recruiters. I’m not sure about the placement details, but I’ve heard that some of the students got placed. AI is the future, so I guess it has more scope.
Infrastructure: But about campus, there is too little space in Balmatta, but labs and classrooms are pretty good. The hostel in Jeppu is the best hostel I have ever seen. It good food, daily room cleaning, 12 hours of AC, a gym is there and also emergency ambulance is there ground is there for sports activities in the hostel.
Faculty: The teaching is fine and good, but as I said before, some faculty members don’t know how to teach in a friendly and how take the class properly. But, it's still okay and good. In my opinion, it’s all about our skills, experience, and luck. Exams are very easy to pass in all semesters, as long as we study. But, if we go without knowing anything, it is difficult. I don’t know about passing mark. Faculty members are good, but some of them don’t know how to teach in a friendly and proper, but its okay to understand hardly.
Other: 1. My course is BCA (ai, cloud computing & devops) with including ibm&tcs. I can say this course is good I mean about ai and computer technology fields are best for coming future that? S the main benefit I can say about this course 2. Good facilities that who know very much expert about this course and they should know how to teach friendly 3. Events are there in monthly and there is no any probelm about events.

My personal opinion about my college, Yenepoya University.
Placements: Our batch is 2023 BCA AI, CC, and DevOps with IBM. About 30% of students got placed from our college. The top recruiting companies are IBM, TCS, Microsoft, etc. Based on their performance in events and projects, some skilled students got recruited by IBM developed with an annual income of 10 LPA.
Infrastructure: We have good facilities on our campus, such as a canteen, libraries, etc. Our classrooms are fully AC. Our college provides free medical facilities for students. The hostel facilities are good, with good food and AC in every room. We also have sports events at the hostel and college.
Faculty: Our faculty members are average, not as good as expected. I don't think the students will gain good practical knowledge from our faculty members, as they rely more on theory papers and marks. In my opinion, theory papers alone only doesn't make improve skills in students. They need to improve on practical skills. Semester exams are easy.
Other: I took this course because I like computers, and AI will be ruling the coming generation. The best thing about our course is that we have add-on courses like AI, cloud computing, and DevOps. They also provide various online courses to improve skills. They also provide scholarships for students who score more than 90% in class 12th.

Yiascm- Yenepoya Institute of Arts, Science, Commerce, and Management.
Placements: Yenepoya University BCA program offers exciting internship opportunities through its work-integrated programme. From the second year onwards, students can earn minimum monthly stipend of Rs. 15,000 and potentially up to 12 LPA before graduation. The university has partnerships with top tech companies, providing hands on learning experiences.
Infrastructure: Yenepoya University's infrastructure for BCA students includes modern classrooms, laboratories, and libraries. The university has a dedicated computer lab with the latest software and hardware, providing students with hands-on experience. The university offers comfortable and secure hostel accommodation for students, with separate hostels for boys and girls. The university has a cafeteria that provides a variety of food options including vegetarian and nonvegetarian meals.
Faculty: Yenepoya University's BCA programs cover a wide range of subjects, including programming languages, computer engineering, data science, and networking. Semester-wise exams, two internal exams, practical exams, and a semester exam throughout the semester. Evaluation based on internal assessment and semester exams.
Other: Yenepoya attracts students from diverse backgrounds, creating a vibrant and inclusive community. The campus had a mix of students from different states and cultures. Various student clubs and organisations such as cultural, sports, and literary club provides opportunities for students to showcase their talents.

Really good infrastructure and facilities .
Placements: None of the students from my batch are placed. We do not know about how placements are done or the average salary package offered in our course. The top recruiting company is TCS, and we also have modules related to our course taught by people from IBM.
Infrastructure: Yenepoya college has excellent infrastructure and facilities for students. We have three IT labs with all necessary facilities, including Wi-Fi. The college also has a very good library that students can use for their studies. Yenepoya provides excellent hostel facilities compared to other colleges. Good-quality food with a proper menu is provided. A wide variety of food is available not only in the hostel but also in the college canteens. Yenepoya has its hospital, and in case of any medical issues, we can consult the doctors there. Our college encourages students to participate in extracurricular activities such as sports, games, and cultural events. Programs are also conducted each semester to engage students in these activities.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is excellent. Our course curriculum prepares students to be industry-ready. We also have access to Coursera and TCS, allowing us to take additional courses to enhance our industry readiness. Lab assistants are available to help us with practical work in the lab.
Other: I chose this course because of my interest in the IT field, and I was particularly eager to study AI, which is a relevant and emerging domain today. I wish we had more practical studies instead of so much theory. While theory is essential, skills are mandatory at the end of the day. More theoretical knowledge combined with hands-on lab work would be great. We have events, fests, and a mediocre campus crowd. The campus is beautiful and eco-friendly. Scholarships are provided for eligible students, and students can participate in extracurricular activities, as we have events related to them each semester.

What to Expect at Yenepoya campus?
Placements: This college has a reputation for being unreliable, particularly when it comes to placement opportunities. The actual placement rate is around 10 percent which significantly undermines the value of the program. Based on my personal experience, I believe this college does not provide a legitimate education, especially for BCA students. The internship and placement prospects for BCA courses here at Yenepoya are poor, leading to a disappointing future for students.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is very good. This is the only positive thing in this college. Labs, classrooms, 24X7 air conditioners, etc., are available. Everywhere air conditioners are always available. The hostel is good. I only like it in this college and hostel infrastructure.
Faculty: Some faculty members are good. Some are bad. In this college, we have semester exams. There should be around 75% attendance for writing exams. Our college charges fine to conduct exams. In one semester, we have 2 internal exams. Exam-wise, our college is good. Almost all faculty members are good.
Other: In my opinion, I don’t like this college. While the students may perform well academically, I feel that the campus life is lacking. There are only one or two events organized throughout the year. The BCA course, in particular, has been quite disappointing and does not focus on skill development. On the other hand, I found the medical field to be excellent but the programs for commerce and arts backgrounds, especially in BCA, are not satisfactory. Students did not study skill development, etc.
