Yes, the candidates pursuing MDes from UID have to complete an industry internship in the last year of the course. This internship is included in the course curriculum to ensure that candidates gain field experience. Apart from this, a project also has to be submitted to the institute. 

Candidates can get enrolled to a MDes course of UID Ahmedavad, Karnavati University if they meet eligibility requirements and perform well in selection rounds. The aspirants with a valid BDes or equivalent degree passed with at least 50% aggregate can apply. Aspirants can access the application form in both online and offline modes. 

The applicants have to then appear for the UID Design Aptitude Test. Candidates shortlisted based on exam scores are called for the situation test and portfolio evaluation. The final selection is done based on overall performance in the selection rounds. Selected candidates can pay admission fee and submit documents to confirm their seats.

Candidates applying for the PG course need to pay the course application fee. An application is submitted successfully on payment of application fee amount. For the MDes programme at UID Ahmedabad, the application fee varies depending on the category of candidates:

• General Category (Indian and Foreign candidates): The application fee is INR 2,000. Candidates in this category have the option to apply online or offline. The application window opens in August.
• NRI/NRI Spons./Mgmt. Category: Candidates in this category are required to pay an application fee of INR 3,000, and the application process is exclusively online. They can apply during the application window starting in January 2024.

Unitedworld Institute of Design offers admission to the MDes programme based on score in UID Design Aptitude Test. This entrance exam is conducted by the institute for admission to courses offered at Ahmedabad and NCR campus. It is conducted in online mode and is of 100 marks in total. Candidates shortlisted based on exam score have to participate in situation test and portfolio evaluation for admission. 

Sadly, most programmes do not offer direct admission to UID Ahmedabad. A two-tier evaluation with the UID Design Aptitude Test (UID DAT), a Situation Test (ST), and portfolio review is part of their usual admissions procedure. This guarantees that they choose pupils who possess both theoretical understanding and real-world expertise.

There are a few exclusions, though:

Lateral Entry: You may be qualified for lateral entry into particular semesters if you have already completed a qualifying Diploma or degree in design.

Transfer Admission: Under specific circumstances, students enrolled in another design programme may be eligible to transfer to UID. For further details contact with administration.
