B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering - Batch of 2028
4.6
Good placements, supportive faculty, and active campus life.
Placements: I am from the B.Tech Electrical Engineering (2023–27 batch). In my course, around 70–75% of students got placed in the previous batch. The highest package was around 12 LPA, the average was around 4.5 LPA, and the lowest was around 2.5 LPA. Top recruiters included TCS, Infosys, Wipro, L&T, and a few core companies like Siemens. About 60% of students also got internships in companies such as Tata Power and Bosch. The top roles offered were graduate engineer trainee, software engineer, and junior design engineer.
Infrastructure: The college has well-maintained classrooms, projectors, and good Wi-Fi in labs and the library. Labs are updated with the equipment needed for electrical engineering experiments. The library is big with digital access, too. Hostel rooms are decent with proper ventilation, water supply, and 24/7 security. The mess food is average but hygienic. Sports facilities like cricket and football grounds, badminton, and indoor games are available. Medical facilities are also provided on campus.
Faculty: Teachers are well-qualified, many with PhDs and research backgrounds. They are helpful and encourage practical learning. The curriculum is updated and industry-oriented, especially with subjects related to EVs and renewable energy. Semester exams are moderate in difficulty; if you attend classes regularly and prepare, you can easily pass. The pass percentage is usually above 80–85%.
Other: I chose electrical engineering because of my interest in electric vehicles. The best part is the practical exposure and industry talks arranged by the department. I hope the college adds more core company placements and improves hostel food quality. Overall, the campus life, events, and scholarships make the journey rewarding.

Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute, Mumbai.
Placements: Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute is famous for its placements. In 2023, the average package for tech branches was about 19.6 Lacs per annum and for circuital and other branches, it was around 11-12 Lacs per annum with a total average placement rate of 82 percent. The highest package offered was 57 Lacs per annum in the tech branch. The top recruiters were DE SHAW, Amazon, LinkedIn, KPMG, etc.
Infrastructure: VJTI was situated in 1887 and it is a government college. You cannot expect more from the infrastructure, as the buildings are old, but the college has all the necessary labs and clubs. VJTI also has a committee called SRA (Society of Robotics and Automation) where people who are interested in robotics and related fields can join and try it. VJTI has 2 main grounds, a volleyball court, a basketball court, and a gymkhana where you can hang out with your friends and play games like carrom, TT, chess, etc. in your free time. It also has a canteen in the college where you can chill with friends.
Faculty: VJTI has one of the best faculties who connect with the students and try to understand them. It also has courses like IKS and CC for character development and for making students confident and industry-ready. In VJTI, there is relative grading, so students don't have to take more stress.
Other: If you want to join the college, you should definitely go for it. You will not regret it. The college is very fun, except for studies. There are fests like Pratibimba, Technonza, and Rangavardhan where students enjoy. Many celebrities are invited, and many more.

The rate of return of this college is great.
Placements: Placements are pretty good compared to other colleges. The average package is around 11-12 LPA. Good percentage of students get internships. The highest package last year was 62 lakh and last year it was around 54 lakhs. Top recruiters are Google and Microsoft.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are fine, except for electrical and electronic. Other branches have very good classrooms and wifi is there in every classroom. Sports and games are not taken that seriously in college. The canteen is good and the food is also affordable. Infrastructure is fine.
Faculty: Exams here are tough as compared to other colleges. Faculty is highly qualified and knowledgeable. Teaching quality is good. Curriculum is great for making students ready for industry. Semester exams are difficult and the pass percentage is 40 out of 100.

Absolutely Satisfied Because of Faculty, Average Infrastructure, Good Placement, etc.
Placements: The placement at the college is very good. Almost all students are placed in various companies. The placement rate for the electrical department last year was 95%. Top companies include Texus, Schneider Electric, and others. The highest package in the electrical department is 29 LPA.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the department is average, and it is a work in progress. Wi-Fi and fans are available in all classrooms, and some classrooms also have digital boards. However, the hostel (D Block) is in poor condition, with infrastructure needing improvement. Quality food is available in the mess and canteen.
Faculty: Some of the faculty members are very good and helpful in addressing difficulties. There are highly qualified faculty, and the non-teaching staff is also supportive. This course provides an understanding of how ecosystems work. Each semester has two exams: a mid-semester and an end-semester exam.
Other: Campus life is enjoyable, with many events organized by college clubs.

Best college for engineering in Mumbai after IIT Bom.
Placements: For placement, it's the best college you can get through CET, and even the lower branches here are better placed than the top branches from lower colleges. Companies like Google, Microsoft, Deutsche Bank, Raymond, Arvind Mills, and Reliance Industries recruit here. Placements are good.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure has been recently renovated, so it's good now. The mess food is good but a bit dry. Hostel rooms are good if you pay more. They are really comfortable and well-ventilated. The view from the terrace is amazing, and you can see the entire Matunga.
Faculty: The course syllabus is slightly irrelevant, as it's not updated, but overall the teachers are good and eager to help. The course is also tough, and you need to maintain your attendance or you'll lose track of what's really going on. If you're regular, it'll be easy.

How is VJTI as a college? How is the electrical branch in VJTI? Should I take VJTI?- Answered
Placements: About 96% of students from my department were placed where the average package was about 11 LPA for the electrical branch, which is really good for a core branch. Someone from my branch bagged a 32 LPA, which is phenomenal. SAP, Cognizant and many other big companies like Morgan Stanley came for placements. Our college provides internships in companies as well as in college. We have a lab where we can get an internship under the HOD, which is beneficial for us.
Infrastructure: The classrooms are decent enough, with wooden benches, projector and AC's. Wi-Fi works in some classes and doesn't in others. The library is too good. It has all the books that you will ever need. It even has good Wi-Fi. You can be in the library for a whole day without feeling bored. The mess has okayish food—not that great. The canteen has better food than the mess. There's a cricket ground, a football ground and a basketball court as well, which is really good.
Faculty: Well, you can't completely rely on the faculty here. There are some who teach comparatively better, but you need to put in the effort to learn and understand. The course, according to me, is pretty outdated, but steps are being taken to improve it. Exams are pretty decent; if you do your notes properly and study 2 hours daily, you will easily score an 8 CGPA. You need around 35 marks to pass.
Other: I wanted to do core engineering, so I chose electrical engineering. The best thing about it is that it is the mother branch of all circuital branches. The fests are the heartbeat of the college. It starts after the first semester and lasts about two weeks. The entire college, along with faculty and students, are all involved in making it better than previous years. The seniors are very supportive as well. Connectivity is very good, as it connects both the Harbour Central Line for railways, and there's also a bus stop. The entire surrounding area is scenic and full of life, with many colleges all together.

An overall average college for engineering.
Placements: In our engineering branch, the college witnessed approximately 60% placements. The average package offered for our course ranged from 3 to 7 LPA, and prominent companies such as Wipro, Tech Mahindra, and Maruti Suzuki participated in campus recruitment. Nearly 80% of students secured internships.
Infrastructure: The college's facilities and infrastructure were satisfactory. Spacious classrooms equipped with essential amenities were available. The college canteen provided reasonably priced food. Hostel facilities were also offered on the campus.
Faculty: The faculty and support staff were highly supportive and qualified. They possessed extensive knowledge of their respective subjects and regularly provided guidance. The course curriculum followed at our college was relevant, aiming to prepare students for the job market.

College with best placements but with little hectic exam season.
Placements: More than 90% of students who enroll get placed, with an average CTC close to 10 LPA. In core electrical, you can find companies like TEXAS INSTRUMENTS, SCHNIEDER ELECTRIC, SIEMENS, and more. Internships are easily available if you have some coding background.
Infrastructure: Mess provides food that is above average and shares the weekly meal plan in advance. However, the hostels are below average, and the restroom facilities are in poor condition. On the other hand, VJTI boasts a well-maintained library with plug points in every classroom for convenience. Additionally, WI-FI is available throughout the campus. The highlight of VJTI is its excellent sports and game facilities. Lastly, the canteen at VJTI serves delicious food.
Faculty: In the field of electrical engineering, there is a notable increase in the recruitment of highly qualified faculty members. These professors possess industry experience and offer opportunities for research. However, the course curriculum may be considered slightly below average, requiring students to put in extra effort to succeed. It is worth noting that VJTI employs a relative grading system, ensuring fairness in grade distribution even if individual subject scores are low.
Other: The college boasts of having exceptional faculty and organizing vibrant cultural festivals. It regularly hosts guest lectures by renowned personalities such as Hiranandani, Adani, Tata, and many others. While most students prefer coding, management, or consultancy jobs, there are exceptions in the CS and IT domains. The college also offers numerous scholarships for students of all categories, which can be found by regularly checking the scholarship section and their telegram channel.
