WCE: The underrated engineering college in Maharashtra.

Placements: More than 85% of students are placed from the Information and Technology branch. The highest package is 60 LPA, and the lowest is 3.5 LPA. Although college decided not to allow companies to offer less than 4 LPA. Oracle, Nice, and IBM are the top recruiters. Uber, Google, and Amazon also offered internships and PPOs to students.

Infrastructure: All required facilities are available in hostels, such as filtered drinking water, fresh water, and 24/7 neat and clean washrooms. All necessary working labs are available there with the proper working electronics required for the course. Wi-Fi is available throughout the campus.

Faculty: Many professors and assistant professors have a Ph.D. in any particular subject, but some are yet to complete their Ph.D. Still, we can say that faculty members can be improved. Some faculty members are passouts of this college itself. But here, mostly faculty members have positive experiences of teaching.

Other: College has a nature-friendly environment with lots of greenery spread with old aesthetics.

Hidden Gem of Maharashtra: Outstanding placements and excellent event culture - WCE Sangli.

Placements: 80 percent is the placement rate. Talking about a specific branch like CSE/IT, it is 80-85 percent. The highest package till now is offered by Rubrik to 1 CSE student of 1.5cr, the lowest is 3 LPA-4 LPA, and the average is 7 LPA-8 LPA. Over 100-110 companies visited, with 450-500 offers, names include Rubrik, CRED, Google, Deutsche Bank, Siemens, Bizom, Connectwise, IBM, Oracle, etc. 50-60 percent secure paid internship, companies offering internships include Google, Siemens, IBM, Connectwise, UBS, Deutsche Bank, etc. Top roles offered in our course are SDE, full-stack developer, SE, ML engineer, system engineer, etc.

Infrastructure: Classrooms with a capacity of 60-70 students, clean, well-ventilated, equipped with digital boards/projectors, and all departments have dedicated lecture halls/seminar halls in separate buildings. Department-wise advanced setup labs, overall quality is excellent for academic needs. Hostel quality is average to good. Clean, Wi-Fi-enabled, basic amenities. Mess and canteen food quality has mixed reviews, hygienic/nutritious but average in taste. Two messes. Medical facilities include an on-campus health center/ dispensary for first aid. Sports and games are excellent, and there are large playgrounds.

Faculty: Faculty at WCE Sangli are generally highly qualified, over 80 percent hold PhDs/M. Tech from reputed institutions like IITs with 10-20 years of experience. The B.Tech curriculum at WCE is an autonomous, choice-based credit system with track-based electives. End semester 50 marks, mid sem 30 marks, ISE 30 marks, making up a total of 100 marks. Difficult is moderate.

Other: I chose B.Tech IT at WCE primarily for its outstanding placement record, even from a tier 2 city like Sangli. The best things about my course are placements and industry readiness, obviously, campus and vibe, and faculty and autonomy. Things I wish would be better are location and exposure, infrastructure upgrades, admin and non-teaching staff, and core branch focus. Events and fests are extremely big club culture, and exciting events and auto expo shows, Mr. and Ms. Walchand like fashion show, bodybuilding competitions, etc.

Honest review of Walchand College of Engineering.

Placements: I'm a first-year student, and my branch is Information Technology. In the technical sector, out of 100%, around 85-90% of students got placed. Overall the average salary package offered ranges from 6-9 LPA. Many top companies visit the campus to provide internships and placements.

Infrastructure: Our college is very good. The campus is spread over 90 acres. It is filled with greenery and trees. The campus has 3 cafes and a large playground, along with badminton, basketball, volleyball, and table tennis courts. It also has a gym which is always open except on Sunday. However, the hostel is not well-developed.

Faculty: Faculty members are good and well-qualified. Most of them have done their masters and some are PhD holders in their subject. They have excellent work experience. They are always there to support students. They help in each aspect of both studies and extracurricular activities.

Other: My batch is Information Technology, and I took admission through the OBC category, so my fee is around Rs. 75,000 per year. But for the open category, it is around Rs. 95,000 per year. The hostel fee for all students is Rs. 28,000 per year, though this might change. It is best to check the website for the most up-to-date information.

All about WCE (Walchand college of engineering).

Placements: Collage placement is really good with a 12 LPA average package and an 85% placement ratio. The highest CTC in college is around 52 LPA, and the lowest is about 4 LPA. The internships are also offered to students but my internship is not that much. The top roles offered are full-stack developer, AI engineer, data scientist and many more.

Infrastructure: Labs, classrooms, and libraries are literally good; all labs are clean and full of equipment like high-spec PCs, monitors and other devices. The library is the attraction point, like it's very big and contains more than 10,000 books. Classrooms are big and each and every class has a digital board and projector. Hostels are average for staying, not that great and not that bad and mess is like average and suggested to be enrolled for outside mess.

Faculty: Faculty are really supportive and friendly; they will help you in every case, like every doubt regarding academics, you can concern to them. Most teachers are masters holders and highly educated. Talking about courses, it's all similar to other colleges, which are 50-50 industry-ready; you need to acquire some skills on your own. Exam are really mid and you need to score atleast 40% to pass the year.
