Colleges Accepting NIFT Scores 2026: Total Seats, Course-wise seat intake
NIFTs have a combined intake of 4837 seats for the B.Des, M.Des, M.F.Tech, B.F.Tech and MFM courses across its 19 campuses. In this article, we discuss course-wise, program-wise, and category-wise seat intake of Colleges Accepting NIFT Scores 2026. Read the full details here.
NIFT Seat Matrix 2026
One must understand the NIFT admission process and seat matrix, as the seat count is directly linked to your prospects of getting admission. The NIFT entrance exam is conducted to shortlist aspirants for admission in design courses offered at the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) campuses.
NIFT 2026 exam written exam will be held in the second week of February 2026 (expected). The National Institute of Fashion Technology has 19 participating institutes. NIFT 2026 participating institutes will offer a total of around 5,289 seats across the All-India, state domicile, and NRI categories, and all these campuses select candidate on the basis of their scores in the NIFT entrance exam.
Admission to NIFT Shillong is determined by the performance of the candidates in the NIFT exam. Recently, the NIFT Shillong cutoff 2025 is published for the first round. Considering the NIFT Round 1 seat allotment results, the General AI category cutoff rank is ranged between 17525 and 46678. Similarly, the OBC AI category candidates saw a cutoff range, with the first-round ranged between 884 and 5109. The minimum rank among both the categories released for Master of Fashion Management (MFM). The entrance exam accepted by NIFT Kangra is NIFTEE. Candidates are required to follow the entrance-based admission process to stand a chance at recieving the final admission offer. Candidates who do get the final admission offer must pay the course fee and secure their seat in the programme.
Candidates are shortlisted based on their entrance performance and the interview round performance.

NIFT 2026 Seat Matrix
Take a look at the NIFT Seat Matrix of 2026 and previous years:
- In 2022, the total number of seats available was 5,023. The break-up of seats included 4,188 All India seats, 377 State domicile seats, and 458 seats reserved for NRI/OCI/Foreign Nationals/SAARC.
- In 2023, the total number of seats increased to 5,199. This included 4,324 All India seats, 405 State domicile seats, and 470 seats for NRI/Foreign Nationals.
- In 2024, the total number of seats available was 5,289.
- In 2025, the total number of seats was 4,837, excluding the NRI seats.

NIFT 2026 Admission Process
NIFT admissions 2026 will be a two tiered process wherein aspirants need to first clear the written tests (CAT and GAT). Shortlisted candidates have to appear next in a Situation Test/Personal Interview. The NIFT 2026 merit rank for admission will be prepared by giving weightage to each test component.

No, you can't apply in NIFT Hyderabad right away without first completing the admissions process. Like all other B.Des programs at NIFT campuses, NIFT uses an intense selection procedure to make sure that only the most talented and motivated candidates are chosen.The main entrance exam for all B.Des programs at NIFT campuses, including Hyderabad, is this nationwide exam. To move on to the next round, you must score highly.
You will receive an invitation to take a Situational Test at the NIFT Hyderabad campus if you pass the NIFT Entrance Exam. This test evaluates your ability to communicate, be creative, and solve problems.The Personal Interview is the last phase, during which a panel of specialists will hear about your motivations, professional objectives, and general personality.
On the basis of a candidate's performance on the NIFT entrance exam, the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) grants admission. The National Institute of Fashion Technology entrance test, administered by NIFT Shillong, is the sole exam accepted for admission to a number of undergraduate, and PG programmes at NIFT Shillong. Situation tests and in-person interviews are used to make the final shortlist.

NIFT is a national-level design entrance exam conducted by the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT). The exam is conducted once every year and it consist of two parts, i.e, first one is, written exam and second is, situation test/personal interview.
The FINAL score of NIFT 2024 for the other programs will be prepared by giving weightage to the written exams and Situation Test/ Personal Interview.
The scores or merit rank of NIFT will be considered for admission to design courses offered by the NIFT participating institutes. Currently, there are 18 participating institutes that offer the following courses - BDes, MDes, BFTech, MFTech, and MFM courses.
