College of Engineering, Adoor

I chose PCM stream during my 11th standard since I had always wanted to become a Mechanical Engineer.

In my opinion, Mechanical Engineering is the pioneer department of engineering and has relatively high placements.

To pursue Engineering I took admission in College of Engineering, Adoor. College of Engineering is is affiliated to Kerala Technological University  Admission to KTU is through KEAM entrance exam, in which I was secured 5149 rank. The admission procedure was easy and the college was resourceful in helping me with admission. My college offers scholarship for meritorious students and those belonging to minority community.

The exam consisted of two papers; one had Maths and the other one had Physics and Chemistry. I recommend coaching for entrance exams as it would help you grab a good rank in KEAM which will in turn get you a good engineering college. I have completed two years of my Engineering and the atmosphere of my college is really good. I really enjoy my college life. Our college has four Engineering departments: Mechanical, Electronics and Communication, Electrical and Electronics, and Computer Science Engineering. But our college is famous for the Mechanical department and we have great faculty members and laboratory facilities.

The most important thing for which I am proud of my college is our Motorsports club. We have an active Motorsports club including three teams: Team Astra (ATV), Team Drutha (Formula) and Team Astrakarting (Go-Kart). I am the current driver for Team Astra. I scored good grades throughout the semesters and I thank my college faculty members and resources for that. College of Engineering, Adoor also provides a good opportunity for extracurricular activities. We have an active Arts clubs and a Sports club. Apart from that, we have technical clubs and wings like IEEE, ASME and ROBOTICS clubs. We conduct a national-level tech fest called AAROH 2018.

College of Engineering, Adoor is a good option you can consider if you wish to choose Mechanical Engineering as your preferred course for career prospects.

Thank you for reading my article and I wish you all the best for the future.
