Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology offers BE in seven specialisations for the duration of four years (three years for ICD/ diploma holder students). 

Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology offers various courses in the discipline of Engineering and Technology at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. It offers one ICD course at the diploma level, two courses at the UG level and three courses at the PG level. The college was ranked 137th in the year 2020 among all engineering colleges in India by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF). 

Undergraduate Courses at Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology

BE (Bachelor of Engineering)

It is a four-year engineering program that provides theoretical as well as practical knowledge of technology. This course is completely focused on the technical syllabus of different specialisations.
College offers BE in seven specialisations for the duration of four years (three years for ICD/ diploma holder students). 

Selection Criteria: Admission to this course is on the basis of marks scored in JEE Main. To secure admission, students need to apply for JOSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) counselling. Students with low scores and higher ranks may get seats in the last round of counselling. Still, if seats remain vacant then admissions are on the basis of the SET exam conducted by the institute.

Duration: The duration of the BE program is four years that consists of eight semesters. For ICD students the duration is three years with six semesters.

Course curriculum: The course has eight semesters and every semester has assignments, tests, and exams followed by project work. The final exam has a 50% weightage and internal exams with other assignments have a combined weightage of 50%. To appear in every exam, students must have a minimum of 75% attendance in every class.

Career scope: After BTech, there are a plethora of career opportunities. One can go for higher studies, campus placements, PSUs, Civil Services Exams, Defence Services, etc as every opportunity is open to engineering graduate students.

Fees Structure: College follows a semester-wise fee structure and the fee is paid at the time of registration before every semester.

Postgraduate Courses at Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology

MTech (Master of Technology)

It is a two-year engineering post-graduate program which provides practical aspects of technology. This course is completely different from BTech as it is mainly focused on research work and projects in accordance with specialisation.
Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology offers an MTech program in seven specialisations for the duration of two years.

Selection Criteria: Admission to this course is on the basis of marks scored in the GATE exam. To secure admissions, the student must have qualified GATE exam with a valid score card (a GATE score card is valid for three years). To secure admission, students need to apply for CCMT (Centralised Counselling for MTech/ MArch/ MPlan) counselling. Students with low scores and higher ranks may get seats in the second or third round of counselling. Still, if seats remain vacant then admissions are on the basis of the SET examination conducted by the institute.

Duration: The duration of the MTech program is two years which consists of four semesters. 

Course curriculum: In its four semesters, the first two semesters are theory based but the last two semesters are completely based on research and project work. To complete this program, a thesis needs to be submitted to acquire the degree. 

Career scope: After MTech, career opportunities are more as compared to the BTech program as opportunities in the field of research and teaching get widened. MTech students also get a stipend amount of 12,400 rupees every month (only GATE qualified). Besides all BTech opportunities, one may also go for assistance professor jobs or in the R&D field.
