The most important book for KCET preparation is NCERT, there are questions directly from the NCERT in KCET. Do multiple revisions of NCERT. After completion of NCERT, just have a glance of previous year question papers and solve them.

KCET – Karnataka Common Entrance Test is a state-level entrance test conducted by the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) for admission to various undergraduate programs such as Engineering, Architecture, Pharmacy, Ayurveda, Homeopathy, Farm Science courses, etc.

  • Firstly, know the syllabus and the exam pattern thoroughly
  • Make a study plan
  • Prepare short notes
  • Practice sample papers and mock tests
  • Revise properly
  • Believe in yourself, stay motivated

The most important book for KCET preparation is NCERT, there are questions directly from the NCERT in KCET. Do multiple revisions of NCERT. After completion of NCERT, just have a glance of previous year question papers and solve them. Start preparing from standard books like Dinesh KCET, Arihant’s KCET Solved papers and MTG Karnataka CET Explorer.

  • KCET is getting more competitive year by year and securing 150+ also gets you a rank of 1 to 2k. So it depends on the level of competition in the year you appear. Concentrate more on the concepts of class 11 and theory and application of class 12 syllabus.
  • Try to increase your speed of solving maths problems by inventing your own shortcut techniques or refer SS Bosco as it is best for tips and tricks.
  • Once you start getting score of 45+ in all subjects in practice tests, re-revise the areas you consider to be difficult and practice just those questions again and again. So you don’t repeat that mistake again. Be cool and attempt the exam. Never get tensed because this brings down your performance drastically.
  • While revising each topic as a part of the exam preparation, make a note of all the important points or major highlights from each topic. Then it will be easy to revise at the last moment.
  • As per the above preparation plan, regular study is necessary so that you can clear the exam with better to best rank. Start the subject that needs more concentration from your side.
  • It is advisable to practice 2-3 mock tests or practise tests per week.

Approximately, 2 lakh candidates appear for KCET every year. A candidate is given 1 mark for every correct answer and there is no deduction of marks for the wrong answer, there is no negative marking. Hence, candidates are suggested to attempt each and every question asked in the exam.

When coming to the study plan :

  1. Create short term and long-term goals for studying.
  2. List all the subjects you need to study.
  3. Decide what is required for each subject.
  4. Prioritize your list.
  5. Divide your available time during the week into study blocks.
  6. Reserve time for non-academic activities.
  7. Fill in your study blocks.

This is the brief information about KCET and tips for the preparation of the exam.
