Top IITs in India - The Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) are autonomous bodies governed by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE). IITs have a common admission process for admission to its BTech courses which is JEE (Joint Entrance Examination). Engineering aspirants seeking admission into the IITs in India will have to qualify both JEE examinations – JEE Main and JEE Advanced.
JEE Main 2024 will be conducted by NTA (National Testing Agency) twice a year: first time in January and second in April, for admissions to the NITs, IIITs & GFTIs. JEE Main is also the first stage of the IIT admission process. JEE Advanced is the second stage which is conducted for admission to the 23 IITs in India. More than 10 lakh candidates enrol for JEE Main every year but only the top 2.5 lakh test takers qualify for JEE Advanced. Candidates applying to a MSc course in IIT Delhi must fulfil the required eligibility criteria. Thus, aspirant must hold a valid bachelor's degree in a relevant stream for at least two years (four semesters) and a minimum aggregate between 55% and 80% or 5.5 CGPA out of 10.
For MSc cognitive science/economic courses, the accepted degrees are BA/BSc/BCom/BTech/BE/BStat/BMath or equivalent. The total course fee for MSc course is ranges between INR 30K and INR 3 lakh.

- MTech: IIT Madras offers a two-year full-time M.Tech programme across various specialisations. The institute inducts candidates for the M.Tech programmes based on valid GATE scores followed by the counselling process.
- MBA: For admission to the full-time two year MBA programme at IIT Madras, candidates are required to appear for the CAT exam. Candidates based on their CAT scores will be shortlisted for the Group Discussion & Personal Interview (PI) round.
- MSc: IIT Madras accepts admission to the MSc programme based on a valid score/ rank in the IIT-JAM exam.
GATE is one of the entrance exams for PhD admission. However, aspirants can also get admission in PhD based on CSIR NET/ CEED/ UGC NET or written test conducted by the institute.
