National Institute of Technology Srinagar (NIT Srinagar) is one of 31 NITs in India, designated an Institute of National Importance. The institute is located in Hazratbal area of Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir — lakeside setting near Dal Lake and the Shankaracharya Hill. NIRF has ranked NIT Srinagar 73 under the Engineering category in 2025. The highest package offered during 2025-2026 placements was INR 35.5 LPA. Top recruiters that took part in the placements are Google, Microsoft and Deloitte, etc.

M.Tech at Tezpur university is better than M.Tech at SMVDU because the placements at Tezpur university provides much better options and salaries as compared to SMVDU. 

In comparison of both the universities it can be seen that the highest package of M.Tech at SMVDU in year 2022 was 3.6 LPA while at tezpurTuniversity was 4.01 LPA. 

Central University of Jammu offers M.Tech students an average package that can range from INR 5 LPA to INR 7 LPA. The highest placement package, though, might reach an astounding INR 10 LPA.

About 90% of the students were placed in prestigious firms, including Pepsico, ICICI Bank, ITC, HDFC Bank, Coca-Cola, Byju's, and other financial institutions.

Model Institute of Engineering and Technology applications are open. Candidates can register online on the institute's website. Aspirants also have to upload documents. The institute has not released any application deadline for now. Candidates must apply as soon as possible to avoid missing out the chance.

Admission to CU Kashmir includes merit and entrance based eligibility criteria. Candidates must secure a minimum aggregate of 50% in Class 12 along with valid scores in CUET UG/PG for the admission to UG and PG level courses. Furthermore, candidates must apply through the official website of the University. Shortlisted candidates must pay the fees and confirm the seat.

As per information available, Institute offers (aprx) INR 700,000 median salary to their students for M.E./M.Tech course during placements.

Mahant Bachittar Singh College of Engineering and Technology BTech courses have a total seat intake of 330 seats. These seats are divided equally between government quota and minority categories with 165 seats each. Candidates are selected based on BOPEE for government quota and SCET for minority BTech seat intake.
