For admission to BTech-MS at IIIT Hyderabad, ranking is done separately for each board. The primary ranking criteria is the subject aggregate score as defined against each eligible category. Candidates with 90% aggregate or more in Maths in any central or state board must belong to one of the following categories:

Must have scored 90% or more aggregate in Maths, Physics and Chemistry - applicable only for CND programme.

It provided good placements in 2024 as well as 2025.

Placements: Our college offers courses like B.Tech in Computer Science, Master's in Data Science, and MS in Research. Many students from the UG background will get internships in top companies, and it is somewhat difficult in some areas like a master of science in data science. The course structure is not aligned properly, which causes students to face trouble during placements. Furthermore, courses in B.Tech and M.Tech are good. It can be recommended if anyone is interested in technical skills and would like to do hard work to get a good job.

Infrastructure: Everything is good. The food facilities are also divided widely with 4 mess partitions. Hygiene is something that is not fully satisfactory, but compared to other institutions, this place is very clean and serves moderately tasty food.

Faculty: Everyone has to prepare their own strategies, even though we have faculty members to ask for help. There are every one who can help us at any time with our academics. Faculty helps us to understand and clear doubts. Exams are not very stressful but require effort. The MSIT course structure is not good.

Great Infrastructure and Facilities

Placements: 90 percent of students get placed in our course. The highest package is 40 Lacs and the lowest is 8 Lacs. Companies like Google, American Express, RedFox, and TCS are top recruiters. 100 percent of students secure internships in roles such as Data Scientist, Software Engineer, and Software Developer.

Infrastructure: The college facilities are excellent, with the entire campus covered by Wi-Fi accessible to all students. We have a large library and various labs for different courses. Both boys' and girls' hostels provide LAN connections in the rooms, and study tables are available to facilitate studying.

Faculty: The teachers in our college are mostly Ph.D. holders in their respective fields. The course curriculum is rigorous and designed to prepare students for high-paying jobs. The difficulty level is moderate, with a pass percentage of 80%.

Other: I chose this course because I wanted to secure a high-paying job and gain practical experience. I believe the course is well-designed and doesn’t need any improvements at the moment. Every year, in February, we have a fest based on various streams.

The college provides good placements, but there is more competition.

Placements: Placements in our college are good, and most of the students are opting for higher studies. Their research was really good, so they would most probably do their PhD abroad. Few students might go for their job which they got through placements. I don't know the companies which visit our campus as I am from the civil department. The college does not guarantee many placements for branches which are not CSE based.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is average. The only good block is KCIS where only a few branches have their labs. The remaining branches have their labs in the old blocks, which are not that great. The other good building is T hub which doesn't belong to us.

Faculty: Faculty members in our college are good, and a few faculty members are very supportive. Some faculty members are really strict and not very supportive of students. Some faculty members are lazy and don't do their job properly. Some of them conduct many assignments and don't give enough time. Some faculty assume students to learn their own stuff rather than teaching.

Other: Fests organised by the college are good.

The college meant for placement, and it is job oriented.

Placements: Talking about the placements, IIIT-H is well known for it. According to statistics, it stands in top 5 in terms of placement in all over India with 100 percent placement record. The students are placed in companies like Google, Facebook, and Microsoft. The highest shooting is 36 lakhs per annum without any bonus and off-shore included.

Infrastructure: Talking about the hostels, they are very well-organised with all the facilities. You get the facilities like LAN, washing machines, and hot water through geysers in the hostel. There are 4 messes and a variety of food available which is good in the quality as well. The labs have A/C. All types of sports facilities are available to the students. There is a hospital availability to the students. Everything is available on the campus.

Faculty: Almost all the professors are graduates from foreign universities or esteemed IITs and have a good knowledge of the subject. They are always available and ready to help. There is presently a TA system existing in our college in where seniors take some extra classes and we feel more comfortable. Overall, the course is well structured and organised.

Other: The environment and campus life can be better but is too much for a college with a small strength of students. It is more programming oriented and famous for its highest number of Gsoc selections in the world. Also, it has a good number of programmers and is well-known for strong core jobs placed. There are many clubs, and they are active. The senior-junior interactions are also good.

Other: There are good research facilities in Information Technology domain and an integrated learning environment. There are lots of electives courses available. Lack of faculty in the electronics domain. The college is more focused on coding aspect than in the hardware part. The grading system is also not proper. Overall, the college is one of the best institutes in the computer science/ information technology domain. It is among the top IITs in India. It has 100% placements for computer science students. It is not good for electronics, civil or biotech domains.
