A: 

The admission procedure at IIIT Hyderabad is completely online and entrance-based for BTech. Admission to BTech at IIIT Hyderabad is done on the basis of a valid score in one among JEE Main/ UGEE/ Olympiad (KVPY) exams. Candidates seeking admission via JEE Main are required to appear for the exam and have a valid score before IIIT Hyderabad application. For other modes of admissions, students can apply online on the official website. Hence, yes, it is possible to can into the institute without JEE Main. Those who wish to apply without JEE can appear for the admission process basis a different admission criteria and process. 

Additionally, IIIT Hyderabad also offers a 5-year Integrated BTech programme which, now, offers admission on the basis of Class 12 board exams. Those who have more than 85% aggregate in Class 12 can seek admission to this course basis Board exam scores.

One of the best decisions you can take.
Placements: At least 70% of students got placed. Nearly 40 LPA is the package offered. Many students go abroad to pursue higher studies. Many students got an internship. Some individuals got to CERN too. You can work as a TA to earn money in your third year or above, too. For the CND course, recruiters sometimes have a science background too.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is available for first-year students, but it is not available or is poor. The bathrooms are clean, but we have to triple share a single room. Mess food is as expected. Nothing out of the ordinary is manageable, but since there are four messes in IIITH. There are options for everyone. Jains included.
Faculty: The teachers, tho fast-paced, are extremely well qualified and strict about punctuality and attendance. The course curriculum is very much relevant. The exams, on the other hand, are stressful and difficult, keep this in mind. The peers competing with each other for a grade are top-notch and clever. The pass percentage is uncertain and depends on the course, but it shouldn't be that hard if you pay attention in class.

College you can really hate and love at the same time.
Placements: I don't think I need to say much about the placements of IIIT Hyderabd. It is certainly one of the best colleges in the country. Because of the coding culture here, you'll learn much more after your first 2 years here than any other college. And because of that, you will get superb internships and placement opportunities. This year onwards, Apple has started coming to the college for on-campus placements as well. That's enough said. The detailed package details are already given on the Shiksha website. One of my seniors recently got an internship at Microsoft in her second year itself. So you don't really have to worry about good placements here.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure here is pretty much decent. The campus is clean, well maintained, and very green. We have a good library and 4 messes. There are clean classrooms. We also have a tennis court, basketball court, football ground (no grass though) and a small gym, don't keep high expectations with that. We have workplaces, where you can sit and do your assignments and other stuff. They don't allow laptops in the first semester. So you'll be using it a lot, at least for first few months. There are 3 canteens as well.
Faculty: The faculty here are good. Mostly you focus yourself more on what you learn outside the class. But if you're very interested in classroom learning, most professors are easily approachable and pretty good at their subjects. The course structure here is very different from any other colleges. You don't have all science subjects in your first year like other colleges, but you have the core IT courses, including good programming and other stuff. Also, first-year students have compulsory PT and yoga, which is a struggle for everyone. All of us hate it. But if you're coming here, just get over with it in the first year itself. Do not fail PT, for your own good. Also, attendance in all the classes is compulsory. You have to attend all the classes. Below 85%, you get a grade drop. Below 65% you get an F (fail). Some people think it is helpful; others hate it. It's debatable, but this policy isn't going anywhere. There are always talks and workshops happening, with a lot of big shots in the IT industry.
Other: As I said earlier, workshops and talks keep happening here all the time. There are a lot of clubs on campus, and we keep having meets and events from time to time. Music club and programming club are very active here. The college is small, just around 1200 people are present. But, everyone here is really brilliant, very good at something or the other. And it is at the heart of the city, Hi-Tech city, the tech hub of Hyderabad. You get pretty much everything at walking distance from the college.

Greate college for CS geeks and not for other enthusiasts.
Placements: 100% selection. The average, which is shown on the website is too less as it doesn't consider PPOs and foreign placements. Simply put, it doesn't consider placements of many excellent students. So, after considering all these factors, the average package will become more than 20 lakhs per annum.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is okay. Food is good as compared to any other college like BITS, IITs etc. Sports infrastructure is okay but there is a lot of scope for improvement. All the buildings are equipped with Wi-Fi. Student hostel has LAN ports for each student. There is a mini hospital (Arogya) on the IIIT campus.
Faculty: The faculty is okay, but learning in IIIT is not done in the classroom but the assignments teach you. There is a great TA culture which helps a lot and is the primary reason for the coding culture of IIIT. Even in the second Semester, we are taught courses like data structure, which is usually a year ahead. The courses are very carefully planned.
Other: The college is located at a great location. The market is there at about 1 km from college. It has Dominos, KFC, Pizza Hut and many restaurants in the nearby market. Moreover, the college has a city advantage as Hyderabad is an IT hub. The city has a lot of clubs where students can go and party. There is no restriction regarding in time and out time for both boys and girls. There is a DLF food street nearbu where students like to go at night.

Overall satisfied with faculty and infrastructure. Placements are good.
Placements: This year, i.e, 2025, 100% of registered students are placed. The highest package is 18 LPA, the lowest is 12 LPA, and the average is 15 LPA. Many of the students got PPOs, which are not considered in official placement states. These include companies like Uber, Microsoft, Goldman Sachs, and Google.
Infrastructure: We have CCNSB labs dedicated to CND research. Most of the classrooms have AC, but hostels do not. Wi-Fi is all over the classes and labs. Hostels are provided with LAN support. Food quality is good in all four of the messes available. Recently, 2 of the messes, North mess and South mess, were combined and are called Palash mess. Sports are mandatory for the first 4 semesters for all branches.
Faculty: Teachers are qualified and knowledgeable in terms of the lectures they teach. They do respond to our emails. Every Semester has 4 exams in total, quiz-1, mid-sem, quiz-2, and the end-sem. Quizzes carry a lower percentage in total, followed by mid-sems and end-sems. Exams are pretty challenging. Most of the courses are graded relatively, so relative performance over others matters the most.
