KARTET Exam Pattern 2025 is prescribed by the Centralized Admission Cell, Department of Public Instruction, Karnataka, the exam conducting body. The KARTET exam pattern highlights the overall structure of the test. KARTET paper pattern is different for Paper 1 and 2. Candidates must be thorough the exam pattern as it will help them in preparation. KARTET exam comprises two papers- Paper 1 and Paper 2. The KARTET Paper 1 is for those who want to apply for primary level teachers (Classes 1 to 5) and Paper 2 is for those who want to apply for upper primary teachers (Classes 6 to 8).

KARTET Exam Pattern: Important Points to Note

  • The KARTET Paper 1 is conducted for candidates who want to teach Classes 1 to 5
  • The KARTET Paper 2 is conducted for candidates who want to teach Classes 6 to 8
  • There is no negative marking in the KARTET exam, candidates are awarded one mark for each right answer
  • For language papers, there are multiple options for the candidates. Candidates can choose any of the following subjects for each paper - English, Kannada, Hindi, Urdu, Tamil, Marathi and Telugu. However, candidates cannot choose the same subject for Language I and Language II
  • 150 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) are asked in both papers
  • The exam is conducted in offline mode, candidates need to fill the answers on the given OMR sheet
  • The Social Studies section is only for visually impaired candidates appearing in KARTET Paper 1
