Q:   What are the subjects in MAHA TET Paper 2?
A: 

The MAHA TET Paper 2 is for Upper-Primary Teachers who teach Classes 6 to 8. The Paper 2 of Maha TET exam involves the following subjects:

  • Child Development and Pedagogy
  • Language-I
  • Language-II
  • Mathematics and Science or Social Studies/ Social Sciences

The Child Development and Pedagogy, Language I and Language II sections comprise 30 question each. In Mathematics and Science or Social Studies/ Social Sciences section, a total of 60 questions are asked. Candidates need to attempt all the questions in a duration of 2 hours 30 minutes.

Q:   What are the subjects in MAHA TET Paper 1?
A: 

The MAHA TET Paper 1 is for Primary Teachers who teach Classes 1 to 5 in Mahrashtra schools. The MAHA TET Paper 1 involves 5 subjects:

  • Child Development and Pedagogy
  • Language-I
  • Language-II
  • Mathematics
  • Environmental Studies

In each subject of Maha TET Paper 1, a total of 30 questions are asked. The total marks of Paper 1 are 150. Candidates need to answer all the questions in a duration of 2 hours 30 minutes.

The MAHA TET exam comprises two papers- Paper 1 and Paper 2. The MAHA TET Paper 1 is for candidates who want to teach Classes 1 to 5 and Paper 2 is for candidates who want to teach Classes 6 to 8. Candidates who want to teach Classes 1 to 8 need to appear for both the papers. In each paper, candidates are asked 150 objective-type multiple choice questions (MCQs).

Q:   Is there negative marking in MAHA TET exam?
A: 

No, there is no negative marking in the MAHA TET examination. Candidates are given zero marks for wrong or incorrect answers in the exam. The MAHA TET exam comprises a total 150 questions in both Paper 1 and Paper 2 and each question carries 1 mark. For each correct answer in the exam, candidates are given 1 mark and 0 for the incorrect answer. There is no negative marking for incorrect answer or unattempted question in the MAHA TET exam.

MAHA TET Paper 1 Syllabus 2024

Child Development & Pedagogy

The questions in the Child Development and Pedagogy section are based on the educational psychology and teaching-learning process of children belonging to the age group of 6 to 11 years. The section includes questions based on special needs children and on the teaching methodology of different subjects.

Language-I & Language-II

Candidates can choose Language I and Language-II as per the grouping mentioned below.

The MAHA TET Paper 2 comprises questions from four sections, namely, Child Development and Pedagogy, Language-I, Language-II, Mathematics and Science or Social Studies. Have a look at the section-wise syllabus below:

Child Development & Pedagogy

The Child Development and Pedagogy section comprises questions from the educational psychology and teaching-learning process of children belonging to the age group of 11 to 14 years. The section also includes questions on children with special needs, school interaction and characteristics of a good teacher. It will also include questions on teaching methods and evaluation methods.

Language-I & Language-II

Candidates need to choose Language-I and Language-II subjects as per the grouping mentioned below.

The Mathematics and Science section carries a weightage of 60 marks. Out of the total 60 marks, 30 marks are for Mathematics and 30 marks for Science. The questions are related to the basics of Science and Mathematics, problem-solving ability, teaching of Mathematics and Science and scientific knowledge. The level of questions is based on the curriculum of Classes 6 to 8.

Social Science

The questions in the Social Science section are based on the concepts, content and pedagogical knowledge of Social Science. The difficulty level of the questions is based on the Classes 6 to 8 syllabus.
