The SSC JE syllabus is divided into two categories Paper 1 and Paper 2. The syllabis for the SSC JE exam is provided below: 

Paper 1:

  • General Intelligence and Reasoning: It covers questions on analogies, similarities and differences, space visualization, spatial orientation, problem solving, analysis, judgment, decision making, visual memory etc.
  • General Awareness: Questions on current affairs, history, culture, geography, economic scene, general polity, Indian constitution, Science etc.

Candidates need to prepare all the above topics from Class 11-12 level textbooks for the SSC JE exam. Regular practice of questions is important.

Q:   Is the SSC JE syllabus changed?
A: 

The SSC JE exam pattern has been revised, but major changes have not been seen in the syllabus of the SSC JE exam 2024. The exam continues to have two papers- Paper 1 (Ojective type) and Paper 2 (Objective type). Paper 1 determines the General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness and General Engineering tendencies of the candidates. On the other hand, the Paper 2 tests the General Engineering of the candidates on specific engineering branch/displine-civil, mechanical and electrical. 

The latest syllabus and the exam pattern can be checked on the official SSC JE notification that will be released in August 2025. Candidates are advised to prepare from the latest syllabus to prepare in the right direction.

Q:   Are there only objective-type questions in SSC JE exam?

SSC JE Paper 1 & Paper 2 both contains objective-type questions. SSC JE Paper 1 works as a screening exam and most of the candidates are filtered out for the main exam. The SSC JE exam is divided into two stages - Paper 1 and Paper 2. The SSC JE Paper 1 is an online exam that consists of objective-type questions, while Paper 2 is also an objective exam that consists of 100 objective questions from the specific discipline chosen by candidates The SSC JE syllabus is a broad outline of the whole engineering subject. The SSC JE Paper 2 exam is conducted for 2 hours, However, for the scribe candidates it is conducted for 2 hours and 40 minutes. The paper 2 is conducted for 200 marks. The complete pattern of the exam has been given below:
