Is the SSC JE syllabus changed?

The SSC JE exam pattern has been revised, but major changes have not been seen in the syllabus of the SSC JE exam 2025. The exam continues to have two papers- Paper 1 (Ojective type) and Paper 2 (Objective type). Paper 1 determines the General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness and General Engineering tendencies of the candidates. On the other hand, the Paper 2 tests the General Engineering of the candidates on specific engineering branch/displine-civil, mechanical and electrical. The Staff Selection Commission prescribes SSC JE syllabus. The SSC JE exam is conducted to recruit the engineering degree holders for the position of Junior Engineers. This is a specialist service exam where the graduate engineers of specific stream can apply for the post of Junior Engineer. The candidates selected in the SSC JE exam are appointed in the Central Government Departments and PSEs.

However, candidates must keep in mind that in the General Engineering section of Paper 2, 100 objective-based questions will be asked in the examination from the specific discipline chosen by candidates.

Yes, it is mandatory to appear for both paper 1 and 2 of SSC JE exam. The final cut off released on the basis of the marks obtained in the paper 2 exam and the document verification. In which mode is the SSC JE exam conducted?

SSC JE exam is conducted in two modes- i) Computer Based Test and ii) Conventional. The details have been given below: Computer Based Test (CBT) The JE Paper 1 (Objective Type) exam is conducted in CBT mode. Candidates have to answer multiple choice questions using a mouse or a touch screen. Conventional Paper-Pen Mode Paper 2 (Conventional Type) exam is conducted in offline pen and paper method. Candidates have to write down answers on the question sheet provided. Also, it depends upon the specific job profile. How many attempts are allowed at SSC JE exam?

There is no limit on the number of attempts for the SSC JE exam. Candidates can apply for the SSC JE till they attain the maximum age limit mentioned in the official notification for their category. The Commission also provides the age relaxation to certain categories. Candidates should check the official notification to know about all such relaxations. You can appear for the exam as many times you want if you meet the SSC JE eligibility criteria.

Are there only objective-type questions in SSC JE exam?

SSC JE Syllabus 2025

The SSC JE exam is divided into two stages - Paper 1 and Paper 2. The SSC JE Paper 1 is an online exam that consists of objective-type questions, while Paper 2 is also an objective exam that consists of 100 objective questions from the specific discipline chosen by candidates The SSC JE syllabus is a broad outline of the whole engineering subject.
