KARTET 2025: The Depatment of school education, Karnataka will soon release KARTET 2025 notification. Along with the notification, KARTET application form will also be made available. The deadline to fill the application form will be notifified by the examination authority. Canidates meeting the eligibility criteria can apply for the exam. KARTET exam dates will be mentioned in the notification.

KARTET exam is conducted to determine the eligibility of candidates for primary school teachers and upper primary school teachers in different government schools of Karnataka. Karnataka TET exam comprises two papers-1 and 2. Read below for more details on KARTET exam.

What is KARTET?

Karnataka Teacher Eligibility Test (KARTET) is conducted by the Centralized Admission Cell (CAC), Office of the Commissioner of Public Instruction, Bangalore, Karnataka. The main purpose of the KARTET exam is to determine the eligibility of the candidates who want to become Classes 1 to 8 teachers in government schools of Karnataka. There are two papers in the KARTET- Paper 1 and Paper 2. KARTET Paper 1 is for those candidates who aspire to teach at the lower primary level (Classes 1 to 5) while KARTET Paper 2 is for those who aspire to teach at the upper primary level (Classes 6 to 8). KARTET-qualified candidates are awarded the certificate of eligibility which remains valid for life now.

The KARTET application form is released online on the official website. Candidates can fill out the application form online by following the given steps:

  • Visit the official website- schooleducation.kar.nic.in
  • Go to the 'KARTET Apply Online Link' on the home page
  • Click on ‘New User’ and register for the exam
  • Fill out the KARTET Application Form 
  • Upload the scanned documents
  • Pay the application fee
  • Submit and save the confirmation page

KARTET Notification

KARTET notification will be released in PDF form. The official notification PDF comprises detrails related to the application process, examination fee, eligibility, exam dates and schedule, exam pattern, syllabus, language of question paper, admit card, exam process, etc. Candidates must read the notification before applying for the exam.

KARTET Eligibility

Karnataka TET eligibility is different for both the papers. The eligibility conditions for Paper 1 and Paper 2 are given below:

KARTET Eligibility for Paper 1: Educational Qualification

  • PUC / Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50 per cent marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2 years Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known) OR
  • PUC / Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50 per cent marks and passed or appearing in final year or 4th year Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEl.Ed) OR
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50 per cent marks and passed or appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education) OR
  • Graduation with at least 50 per cent marks and passed or appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known)

KARTET Eligibility for Paper 2: Educational Qualification

  • Graduation with at least 50 per cent marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known) OR
  • Graduation with at least 50 per cent marks and passed or appearing in the final year of a 2-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed) OR
  • PUC / Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50 per cent marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (BEl.Ed) OR
  • PUC / Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50 per cent marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 4- year BAEd /BScEd OR
  • Graduation with at least 50 per cent marks and passed or appearing in Final-year B.Ed (Special Education)

KARTET Age Limit

The candidates applying for the Karnataka TET Exam must be above the age of 18 years. There is no upper age limit for KARTET exam.
