TET 2024 Exam Updates

The Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) exam is taken to determine the eligibility of a person to get appointed as a teacher in any school in India. As per the Right to Education (RTE) Act, a candidate should pass the TET exam which is conducted by the appropriate Government according to the guidelines framed by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). The TET 2024 is conducted at the central level and state levels. At the national level, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducts the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) and at the state level, various states hold the TETs every year such as TS TET, UPTET, REET, TNTET, MAHA TET, OTET, HP TET, KTET, and others.

The CTET result 2024 has been released. The AP TET 2024 exam will be held from February 27 to March 9, 2024. The BSEB will soon announce the Bihar STET 2024 exam date. The notification for UPTET and MAHA TET is still awaited. On the other hand, the Assam Education Minister announced that no Assam TET will be conducted for two years in Assam. TET 2024 Latest Updates 

The latest updates about the TET exams that are currently under process or awaited have been given below for the candidates. CTET 2024

The CTET 2024 exam was held on January 21, 2024. The CTET result 2024 was released on February 15, 2024. The CTET answer key 2024 was released on February 7, 2024. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) released the CTET notification 2024 on November 3, 2024, to conduct the 18th edition of the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET). The CTET application form 2024 was released along with the notification. The last date of the CTET registration 2024 was December 1, 2024.

AP TET 2024

The AP TET notification 2024 was released on February 7, 2024, as a PDF at aptet.apcfss.in. The Department of School Education, the Government of Andhra Pradesh is accepting the online AP TET application form 2024. The AP TET last date 2024 to apply online is February 18, 2024. The AP TET exam 2024 exam will be held from February 27 to March 9, 2024. The AP TET hall ticket 2024 download link will be released on February 23, 2024.

Bihar STET 2024

The Bihar STET notification PDF 2024 was released on December 14, 2024. The Bihar STET application 2024 is held from December 14, 2024, to January 7, 2024. The Bihar STET 2024 exam is conducted online in the Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode. The BSEB will apply the normalization method for the declaration of the Bihar STET result 2024.

UPTET 2024

UPTET Notification 2024 will be released soon on the official website. Recently, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh announced that the UPTET exam conduction authority will be changed for the next exam session. The new exam authority will be the Uttar Pradesh Education Service Commission. However, the official announcement and press release are yet to be done.

Assam TET Cancelled 

Assam Education Minister informed that the Assam Teacher Eligibility Test has been cancelled for two years. The reason behind the cancellation is the sufficient number of TET-qualified candidates in Assam. Further, the education minister added that though there will be no TET exam for the next two years but the teacher recruitment exams will be conducted to recruit the teacher in lower primary (LP) and upper primary (UP) schools of Assam.

TET Notification 2024

How to Apply for TET 2024 Exam?

TET 2024 Eligibility criteria

In order to appear for the TET 2024, candidates should fulfill the prescribed eligibility criteria comprising the educational qualification and age limit. The TET eligibility criteria differ from state to state. However, the basic criteria remain the same that candidates need to fulfill in order to appear for a TET. The basic eligibility criteria are:

  • Candidates should be class 12 passed or a graduate from a recognized university with a minimum of 45 per cent marks
  • Candidates should have obtained a Diploma in Education or Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) or completed any other prescribed teacher training program/course
  • Candidates should be of minimum 18 years of age
  • There is no upper age limit for CTET and various TET exams

The TET exam pattern 2024 usually contains 150 objective-type Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) of 150 marks. The time duration given to complete a TET paper is typically 150 minutes (two and a half hours).

The TET exam pattern is prescribed by the respective exam authorities or state governments. Most of the TETs share similar exam patterns. 

How to prepare for TET 2024?

In order to prepare for the TET exam, candidates should be familiar with the exam pattern and Syllabus of the TET exam prescribed officially by the exam conducting body. The teacher eligibility tests typically consist of two papers 1 and 2. Paper 1 is conducted for candidates who plan to teach classes 1 to 5. Paper 2 is conducted for candidates who plan to teach classes 6 to 8. The TET question paper varies as per the subject chosen by a candidate. Candidates should carry out the TET preparations 2024, around six months prior to the exam.

How to Check the TET Result 2024?

After the conduct of the TET examination, the TET exam result is released by the exam conducting body. Candidates can check their results by visiting the official website of the examination. The result is generally released in PDF file form and contains the following details:

TET Result 2024: Applicability

Every year, lakhs of aspirants from different parts of the country appear for TETs with the aim of obtaining eligibility for teacher recruitment to the following posts:

  • Primary Teachers (PRTs): For Classes 1-5
  • Trained Graduate Teachers (TGTs): For Classes 6-8
  • Post Graduate Teachers (PGTs): For Classes 9-12

Candidates who seek to become primary teachers for classes 1 to 5 appear for Paper 1 under the respective TET exam and candidates who want to teach classes 6 to 8 appear for Paper 2 exam. However, the TET exam and teaching post level may differ as per rules prescribed by respective state governments. 

It may be noted here that merely qualifying for the CTET or TET exam does not guarantee the appointment of candidates as teachers in schools. However, once qualified, candidates only get eligible to apply for teaching jobs. Candidates need to undergo the entire recruitment process of the school in which they want to get recruited.

TET Result: Validity of Certificate

Candidates who qualify for the exam are awarded the TET eligibility certificate. The TET certificate is now valid for life. The National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) extended the TET certificate validity to a lifetime in June 2021. Candidates who qualify for the TET exam once and obtain the certificate can now apply for teacher recruitment until they fulfill the school's prescribed eligibility criteria.
