RBI Grade B analysis 2025 is made available separately for prelims and mains exams. The exam analysis of RBI Grade B will help candidates to know the difficulty level of the exam, number of good attempts, expected cut off, etc. According to RBI Grade B exam pattern, the test consists of four sections-General Awareness, English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, and Reasoning. A total of 200 questions are asked in the exam. Read below for more details on RBI Grade B exam analysis.

 
Q:   How tough is RBI Grade B exam?
A: 
RBI Grade B is considered to be a challenging exam and it tests candidates knowledge of economic, finance, and management. The exam is conducted in three phases-Phase 1, 2 and Interview. The Paper 1 exam is held for 200 marks while Phase 3 carries 300 marks. The interview carries 75 marks. The difficulty level of each phase varies, with Phase II being generally considered the toughest. However, with proper preparation and practice, candidates can certainly crack the exam. The tips and tricks to crack the exam are given below: Candidates should first go through the exam pattern and syllabus inorder to understand the structure of the exam After going through the syllabus, candidates should make notes of the chapter-wise topics. After completing each chapters, they should revise these topics Candidates should attempt mock tests inorder to improve their speed and accuracy Candidates must analyse their performance after every mock tests and work on their weak areas Candidates should should stay calm and focused They should prepare a proper study routine and follow that diligently
Q:   What is the difficulty level of RBI Grade B phase 1 exam?
A: 

The difficulty level of RBI Grade B Phase 1 exam is usually moderate to difficult. In 2022, the difficulty level of the English section was easy whereas the Quant section was calculative. Current Affairs questions were asked from the recent events that took place in May and April 2022. In General Awareness, there were questions on Budget. Static GK questions were very less. The Reasoning section was difficult and time-consuming. In Quant, questions were asked from Compound Interest and Simple Interest, Quadratic Equation. Reasoning questions were asked from Seating Arrangement, Paragraph Based questions, Statement Based questions. There were two Reading Comprehension in English section. 

Q:   What is the difficulty level of RBI Grade B Phase 2 exam?
A: 

The difficulty level of the Phase 2 exam is easy to moderate. In 2022, the descriptive paper was easy while the objective paper was moderate. Questions in the subjective paper were asked from LTRO, resistance to change and how to avoid, India's role in 2008 financial crisis, blockerchain disrupt banking, what are the barriers to interpersonal communication and how to overcome it,  managers' role in encouraging ethical behaviour in an organisation. The objective paper carried around four to five questions on RBI notification Legal Entity Identifier (LEI), Payments Infrastructure Development Fund (PIDF). In the Management part, there were application-based questions. There were questions on five model personalities, motivation. In Finance, questions were asked from CSIR, defination of small industries, etc. The questions asked in Economics and Social Issues were easy.

The exam pattern for RBI Grade B Phase-I and II is given below.

Phase-I exam

RBI Grade B Phase-I exam for Grade B-General post carried 200 questions from General Awareness, English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, and Reasoning. The duration of the test was 120 minutes, with sectional timings. All the sections except the English Language were available bilingually, that is, both in English and in Hindi. For the correct answers, one mark is awarded to candidates while 0.25 marks are deducted for incorrect answers. 

Phase-II exam

This year, RBI has revised the pattern of the Phase-II exam. The test comprises three papers: Paper-I, II, and III. Paper-I and III comprise both objective and descriptive type questions while the Paper-II exam comprises only descriptive paper. The duration of Paper I and III are 120 minutes while Paper-II is held for 90 minutes. The total marks of the test are 300, each section is for 100 marks.

RBI Grade B Marking Scheme

There are negative marks for wrong answers in the Phase 1 exam. For correct answers, candidates get one mark. The total marks are calculated based on the number of correct and incorrect answers.

Q:   Are there any sectional timings in the RBI Grade B exam?
A: 
There are sectional timings in Phase 1 of RBI Grade B exam. The prelims exam is conducted for 120 minutes. Candidates need to attempt the different sections of the prelims exam as per the allotted time frame. Paper 1 and 3 of the Mains exam are held for 120 minutes. The Paper 2 of the Mains exam is conducted for 90 minutes. The total marks allotted to the prelims exam are 200. The total marks allotted to the Mains exam are 300. The total marks allotted to interview are 75 marks. In Phase-I, 25 minutes each are allotted to General Awareness, English Language and Quantitative Aptitude while 45 minutes are allotted to Reasoning.
Q:   How many questions are asked in Phase I and II for Grade B (General) posts?
A: 

A total of 200 questions will be asked in Phase I of RBI Grade B. The objective part of Paper-I and III of Phase II carries a total of 30 questions, while the descriptive part carries a total of six questions. The Paper-II of Phase II carries a total of three questions. The Phase 1 of RBI Grade B exam carries questions from General Awareness, English Language, Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning. The Phase 2 of RBI Grade B exam carries three papers- Paper-I: Economic and Social Issues, Paper-II: English (Writing Skills) and Paper-III: Finance and Management. The paper 1 of Phase 2 exam, carries 50 per cent Objective-Type questions and 50 per cent Descriptive questions which candidates need to type with the help of the keyboard. The Paper 2 carries Descriptive-Type questions which candidates need to type with the help of the keyboard. Candidates opting to type the answers in Hindi may do so with the help of either Inscript or Remington (GAIL) keyboards layout. Paper 3 comprises 50 per cent Objective Type questions and 50 per cent Descriptive type questions. Candidates need to type the answers with the help of the keyboard. Q:   Will there be a Psychometric Test in RBI Grade B exam?
A: 

As per the revised exam pattern, candidates need to appear for the Psychometric Test in the RBI Grade B exam before appearing in the interview. There are no marks for this test. The performance of candidates in the psychometric test is not counted for the final merit list. It is only conducted to test the psychological knowledge of candidates. The psychometric test basically measure individuals' mental capabilities and behaviour style. The test assess a cadidate's ability to perform the assigned job role.
