Jawaharlal Nehru University or JNU MA admission season generally begins in the first week of March every year. The programme is offered under various specialisations via six schools, as listed below:

  1. School of International Studies
  2. School Of Language, Literature And Culture Studies
  3. School of Social Sciences
  4. School Of Arts And Aesthetics
  5. School Of Sanskrit And Indic Studies
  6. Special Centre for Disaster Research

JNU MA Admission Process 2020

JNU MA admission 2020 is based on a candidate's performance in JNU Entrance Exam (JNUEE), followed by a viva voice. In order to be eligible for the viva voice, a candidate must secure the following marks in the written examination:

  • General Category: 25% (17.50 marks out of 70)
  • OBC: 22.50% (15.75 marks out of 70)
  • SC/ST/PH: 15% (10.50 marks out of 70)

Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with minimum 50% aggregate

School Of Language, Literature And Culture Studies

Bachelor's degree in any discipline with minimum 45% aggregate (50% in the case of English, German, Linguistics) with adequate proficiency in the concerned language

School Of Social Sciences

Bachelor's degree in any discipline with the following minimum aggregate:

  • Economics, History, Philosophy, DLSM- 50%
  • Political Science- 55%
  • Geography, Sociology- 45%

School Of Arts And Aesthetics

Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with minimum 50% aggregate

School Of Sanskrit And Indic Studies

Bachelor’s degree in Sanskrit or in any other subject with minimum 45% aggregate

Special Centre for Disaster Research

Bachelor's degree in any social sciences/ natural sciences or any other professional stream with minimum 55% aggregate from a recognised university/institution

JNU MA Application Process 2020

 JNUEE Application Process is explained below:

  1. Visit the official website of NTA
  2. Click on “Fill Application Form for JNUEE 2020” and create a login ID
  3. Fill in the personal and academic details
  4. Upload the scanned photograph and signature in the given dimensions
  5. Pay the application fee and click on ‘Submit’
