Since there is a change in the exam pattern of the CUET PG 2024 exam. Now the total marks for which the exam will be conducted have been reduced from 400 to 300 marks as the total number of questions has also been reduced from 100 to 75.
So the CUET PG cutoff will be prepared out of a total of 300 marks depending on the no of applicants, the difficulty level of the exam and their respective categories.
Aspirants should check the following steps to start with the preparation process of CUET PG 2025.
Step 1: Know the CUET PG syllabus thoroughly.
Step 2: Understand the CUET PG exam pattern and marking scheme.
Step 3: Get the best books to study for CUET PG and other study material.
Step 4: Make a monthly time-table, a weekly time-table, and a daily time-table.
Step 5: Solve past years’ question papers, sample papers, and mock tests.
The CUET PG syllabus does not necessarily cover the entire undergraduate curriculum. It is designed to assess the knowledge and understanding required for postgraduate studies in a particular subject. While some topics from the undergraduate curriculum may be included, the focus is on higher-level concepts and advanced topics relevant to postgraduate studies.
The syllabus may also include topics that were not covered in the undergraduate curriculum but are essential for postgraduate studies. This ensures that candidates have the necessary foundation for advanced learning in their chosen field.
Therefore, it is important to carefully review the specific syllabus for your chosen subject and postgraduate programme to understand the exact scope of the exam. This will help you focus your preparation on the most relevant topics and maximize your chances of success in the CUET PG exam.
Here are the few tips:
- Candidates should go through the exam pattern and structure of the test.
- Create a monthly timetable on how much material to cover on a daily basis.
- students should get hold of some of the best books for CUET PG preparation.
- After completing the syllabus, they should take regular mock tests and analyse their performance. Solving previous years’ question papers will also expose them to the topics and question types to expect in the actual exam.
Here are some tips for candidates preparing for the CUET PG exam in CBT mode:
- Get familiar with the CBT exam format. Practice taking CBT mock tests to get used to the computer-based interface and the type of questions asked in the exam.
- Make sure you have a good understanding of the computer skills required for the exam. For example, you should be able to use a mouse and keyboard comfortably.
- Choose a test center that is convenient for you. Make sure you visit the test center a few days before the exam to familiarize yourself with the location and the facilities.
- Arrive at the test center early on the day of the exam. This will give you enough time to check in and get settled before the exam starts.

As per the information gathered from the YouTube channels, and candidates' exam video reactions, so far CUET PG 2025 overall exam difficulty level is found to be moderate. However it has been observed that the test takers have found this year's CUET PG question paper to be more difficult compared to the last years. Also, candidates found the time shortage in the examination due to the demand of the question paper to use more conceptual and analytical skills than theoretical ones.
The change in the CUET PG 2025 time duration has given test takers a disadvantage in subjects like Mathematics, Statistics and many more.
