AP LAWCET 2026: Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) has released AP LAWCET Counselling Dates 2026 for Phase 1. AP LAWCET 2026 counselling registration for Phase 1 admission started on September 24. Candidates can view complete schedule and fill counselling registration online at cap.apcfss.in. Candidates who qualified in AP LAWCET 2026 exam must register for counselling by September 29, 2026.
APSCHE conducts Andhra Pradesh Law Common Entrance Test for admission to 3 Year and 5 Year LLB courses. AP LAWCET 2026 exam was held on May 4, 2026 and result was declared on May 18, 2026. Complete admission process is handled by Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvavidyalayam. Candidates need to take part in every counselling step through official website. As per the Andhra Pradesh LAWCET 2026 eligibility criteria for the 5-year LLB programme, candidates must have passed their Class 12 exam in a (10+2) pattern with a minimum of 45% marks. Candidates belonging to the SC/ST category need 40% marks in their intermediate exam to take the Andhra Pradesh LAWCET exam 2026 for admission to the integrated LLB programme. However, candidates belonging to backward classes (BC) require a minimum of 42% marks in their Class 12 to take the Andhra Pradesh LAWCET 2026.
The Andhra Pradesh LAWCET cutoff is determined by the total number of exam takes. The overall exam difficulty as well as available seat capacity at participating colleges also affect cutoff. The category of candidates and state reservation policies also affect overall cut off marks.
AP LAWCET Qualifying Marks 2026
Candidates must secure minimum qualifying marks in AP LAWCET to be eligible for counselling. Exam is of total 120 marks and as per criteria, General and OBC category candidates must score at least 35 percent marks, which is 42 out of 120. This qualifying criteria is same for both 3 year and 5 year LLB programmes.
There is no minimum qualifying percentage for SC and ST candidates. But, they must appear in exam and get a rank to take part in counselling.

Candidates should note that qualifying AP LAWCET does not guarantee admission. Admission depends on rank, category wise reservation, and seat availability in participating colleges. Candidates who score minimum marks only become eligible to join counselling process.

AP PGLCET (for LLM) has a different qualifying criteria. Candidates need to score 25 percent which is 30 marks out of 120, to qualify for it.

AP LAWCET Ranking and Tie-Breaking Rules
Candidates who qualify are given ranks on basis of marks scored in exam. Merit list is prepared on basis of this rank, and seats are allotted in counselling accordingly. In case, two or more candidates score same marks, council follows tie-breaking rules to decide rank. Candidates can check tie-breaking rules below
- Part C Marks: Candidates with higher marks in Part C, Aptitude for Study of Law get a higher rank.
- Part B Marks: If tie remains, higher marks in Part B, Current Affairs are considered.
- Age Seniority: If scores in Parts C and B are still equal, older candidate receives higher rank.
