Overview

The Rajasthan University will release the cutoff marks of the RULET exam before every counselling round. Candidates must understand that the Rajasthan University Law Entrance Test (RULET) 2026 Cutoff will be released online only. The official website to check RULET Cut-off Marks is uniraj.ac.in. The UniRaj will publish the category-wise RULET cut-off marks, i.e., for the Open category, Other Backward Class (OBC), More Backward Class (MBC), Scheduled Caste, and Scheduled Tribes.

It must be noted that the no cutoff will be published for the candidates who have applied under the physically handicapped (PH) category, as the exam is conducted only for qualifying purposes. Read on to know the expected cut-off marks for RULET 2026 and the factors affecting the cut-off marks.

Q:   What is RULET cutoff?
A:

The qualified candidates in RULET 2026 have to appear for GD/PI. The RULET Group Discussion and Personal Interviews (GD/PI) are subsequent rounds after the release of the RULET result. Only those candidates who clear the RULET written exam will be eligible for the GD/PI. To participate in these rounds, they will have to fill out an online application form by visiting the website of the University of Rajasthan, uniraj.ac.in.

How to check RULET 2026 Cutoff?

The RULET cut-off will be published in the RULET admission list published by the varsity for each round of admissions. Candidates must note that the RULET 2026 Cut-off by the step mentioned below

Q:   How much fee is to be paid for RULET 2026 counselling process?
A: 

Candidates have to deposit the admission fee through e-payment mode on the official website. As per the RULET 2026 counselling notification, apart from the admission/course fee of INR 50,480, a candidate need to pay INR 100 as the counselling registation fee on the day of counselling. However, they need to note that the RULET admission fee is the subject to change.

Candidates need to note that the fee mentioned here is based on previous year's counselling notification. The fee may change in 2025.

Q:   Does Rajasthan University accepts CLAT Score for Law admissions?
A: 

No, Rajasthan University will not accept the CLAT Score for admission. Candidates will have to appear for RULET Exam. 

Q:   My name appears in waitlist candidates, will I be able to secure a BA LLB seat through RULET?
A: 

Yes, all the candidates whose name appears in the RULET 2026 merit list will be able to secure admission at the five-year law college. They have to appear for the counselling as per the schedule, with all the required documents in the correct manner to secure a seat. Candidates who participated in the RULET exam and secure a rank will have to attend the counselling as per the schedule notified. However, candidates having names in waitlist will be called subsequently when the seats are not filled and stand vacant.

Factors affecting RULET 2026 Cut off Marks

After the factors are analysed, the cut off marks can rise or fall for final admission. Moreover, on the basis of RULET cut off marks, the university publishes the category-wise merit list for seat allotment. The cut-off marks are affected by various factors including- 

  • Difficulty level of the examination.
  • Total number of candidates who appeared for the entrance exam.
  • Total seat and reservation criteria.
  • Wrong questions reported in the question paper.

Q:   Who will prepare RULET Cutoff?
A: 

The RULET Cutoff will be prepared by the Rajasthan University once the results are announced. Candidates must note that the RULET Counselling will be based on RULET Cutoff.

Q:   Is there any fee concession available for PH category candidates in the RULET admission process?
A: 

Yes, candidates belonging to the PH category, Women, Candidates whose parents are non-taxpayers and belong to OBC, MBC, SC, ST, EWS, wards of Martyr, ward of Defence personnel are exempted from paying the tuition fees. The university will conduct at least three rounds of admission to fill all the vacant seats at the Five-Year Law College, Jaipur. The number of counselling rounds will be the same for candidates belonging to both reserved and unreserved categories.

Q:   How many photocopies of category certificate do I need to submit at the counselling venue of RULET?
A: 

The RULET counselling is being conducted in the offline mode.  During the counselling process, candidates need to submit photocopies of their ID proofs, academic certificates and marksheets, category certificates and other required documents. All the candidates claiming admission under a reserved category has to submit one relevant certificate supporting their claim. It should be duly signed by the competent authority of the category.

Q:   What is the expected RULET Cutoff?
A: 

The expected RULET cutoff for the General category is likely to be 220+ marks. For SC/ST categories around 180+ marks. Cutoffs may vary based on difficulty and applicant numbers. 

Q:   Can I get admission in UniRaj through RULET without meeting cutoff?
A: 

There is no way to get enrolled in UniRaj without meeting the cutoff.  Candidates who will clear the RULET exam will be called for counselling. Those who will meet the cutoff will be able to participate.

Q:   Is it mandatory to appear in RULET Exam to get admission in LLB courses?
A: 

If you are looking forward to getting admission in LLB courses offered by Rajasthan University, it is mandatory to clear the RULET Exam. There is no other way to get seat in the varsity for undergraduate law courses.

Q:   Is RULET compulsory for admission in BCom LLB at Rajasthan University after 12th?
A: 

UG & PG courses are offered in the constituent and affiliated colleges of Rajasthan University. LLB Admission is done on the basis of score in RULET conducted by the university. Students have to qualify in RULET to secure admission in Five-Year Integrated BA LLB Programme. BCom LLB course is not offered through RULET,

Q:   What is RULET tie-breaking criteria?
A: 

The RULET tie-breaking criteria are used by the University of Rajasthan to determine the final merit list when two or more candidates secure equal marks in the entrance exam

Q:   What is the process after RULET Answer Key?
A: 

After the RULET Provisional Answer Key is released, the University will open the objection window. Based on the objections received, the RULET Final Answer Key will be published. The RULET Result will be published based on final answer key.

Q:   How should I prepare for RULET Exam?
A: 

The exam officials will notify you about the RULET exam marking scheme through the notification. However, examiners are given 2 marks for correct answer and there will be no negative marking.

 

Q:   Is there any negative marking in the RULET 2026 exam?
A: 

RULET 2026 exam will have no negative marking which means no marks will be deducted for the wrong answer attempted. This will let the candidates to attempt the entire RULET question paper which in turn will increase their chances of scoring better. The candidates will be awarded 1 mark for each correct answer and for any unattempted or wrong answer, no marks will be deducted. 

Q:   How much time is sufficient for RULET preparation?
A: 

Candidates preparing for RULET can complete the entire syllabus in less than three months. However, if one has prepared for other Law exams, he/she may complete the syllabus in less time.

Q:   Can I raise objection after the RULET result has been declared?
A: 

You can reach out to the exam authority, but no objection window will be opened to object to the result.

RULET 2026 will not have any negative marking. However, candidates will be asked questions from subjects including English, Current Affairs, Legal Reasoning, & Logical Reasoning. The total marks to be awarded for each question will be 2 marks.
