The Global Media Common Entrance Test (GMCET) is a national-level entrance test conducted by the Global Media Education Council (GMEC) to short list candidates for undergraduate media courses in its participating colleges/universities. The coursesd offered by GMCET are -  BJMC (Bachelor of Journalism and Mass Communication), BA-JMC ( Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communication), BMS (Bachelor Management studies), BMC (Bachelor of Mass Communication), BMM (Bachelor of Mass Media). This test assesses students for their communication skills and necessary analytics and logical reasoning essential for comprehending various scenarios and possible outcomes for a successful career in BA-JMC & BJMC, BMS, BMC, BMM and other courses.

A:

Global Media Common Entrance Test is an all South Asia entrance examination that offers admission of qualified candidates to undergraduate media courses. The colleges that come under the GMCET exam are - Sharda University, National School of Journalism, Alliance University, Auro University, Presidency University, Noida International University, LNCT University, GITAM University, Mody University, Jagran Lakecity University, Ajeenkya D.Y. Patil University, Centurion University, NSHM Knowledge Campus, Invertis University, Vivekananda Global University, and Bahra University.

Q:   Where to apply for GMCET 2026?
A:

Interested aspirants can apply for the GMCET from its official website: gmcet.org. The application forms had to be filled only in online mode. To successfully submit the application form candidates will have to first register on the website, fill in all the details asked, and log in using these credentials to complete the application form. To successfully submit the application form, aspirants will have to pay the application fee in online mode.

The application fee for GMCET registration 2026 is INR 1000. Eligible candidates filling the application form can pay the registration fee in online mode via Credit/Debit Card/Net Banking or UPI.

Q:   Is GMCET a center-based exam?
A:

No, GMCET is not a center-based exam. It is an online exam, which candidates can give from the comfort of their homes. The exam can be given from a laptop/desktop. The details and instructions related to the exam will be mentioned on the GMCET admit card. However, detailed instructions will be sent to candidates' registered email IDs and mobile numbers 15 minutes before the exam so that they can prepare for the exam.

Q:   Can I submit the GMCET application form offline?
A:

No, the application form for GMCET exam cannot be filled offline. It can only be done in online mode. The complete process of the GMCET exam is in online starting from the registraitons, to the application filling process and the exam fee payment. In order to apply successfull, candidates will have to visit the official website of GMCET - gmcet.org to register, fill the online application form and make the payment.
