Ankit is a graduate in Mechanical Engineering and his academics are as follows:
10th: 85%
12th: 86%
Graduation: 75%
Shiksha got in touch with Ankit to know what he was asked at the WAT-PI process at IIMB. Read his full interview below:
WAT Topic
Jallikattu- Should it be allowed given the sentiments of people attached to it?
I wrote about even though the Supreme Court turned down the plea to lift the ban on Jallikattu in the state, TN Government allowed the same.
No GD takes place in Bangalore.
Next was the Personal Interview round where there were two panelists: P1 (male in his 50s) and P2 (female in her 40s). Both the panelists were really polite and wanted to know more about me.
P1: So tell me about your college. Is it the same college (DCE) or is it a new college? Why did it get changed, what were the changes, pros and cons?
Me: I told them that it got changed from a college to a university. It was earlier under DU, now it is autonomous but under the state government. Talked about the changes how the procedure work is now much quicker but then the fees has now gone up.
(This went on for 5 mins and they seemed to be really interested in what I had to say.)
P1: Tell me about your role in your company.
Me: I started answering and P1 cut me off midway and asked me why I left my job. I said that my function was getting changed and since I had already decided to pursue MBA, I decided to quit. Also, I could not have afforded to take leaves in new function.
P2: (Looking at something up on her laptop.) She started asking me about my company, its revenue, competitors, how it is different from the competitors, who are the clients.
There was a healthy discussion on this for about 7-8 mins.
P1 asked me about the books I read.
Me: Told them I don't read many books and that I didn’t find non-fiction interesting – to this P1 said that in that case, you shouldn’t be reading academic books at all. I clarified my situation & convinced them that I do read academic books, but due to office and preparation I was not able to read anything else.
P2 asked me the difference between permutation and combination, but under pressure I could not give a satisfactory answer and got confused.
Before leaving, I told them about a book I had read and then we exchanged some words about that book.
P1 asked me if I had any questions. I politely said and no and the interview got over.
