IIM Nagpur Admission 2018-2020: PI and WAT to take place from May 7 to May 11

The Indian Institute of Management Nagpur (IIM Nagpur) has announced the schedule of PI and WAT process for PGP 2018-2020 admission.

For the 60-seats batch the minimum eligibility cut off has been fixed at 90 percentile for General category students and 81 percentile and lower for Reserved category students.

Final selection will be based on the candidate’s overall performance in CAT 2017, WAT/PI, work experience and academic profile.

The admission process consists of three stages:

  • Candidate’s screening on the basis of CAT scores
  • Written Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI)
  • Final selection on the basis of five parameters set by IIM Nagpur

For the first stage, IIM Nagpur has set cut-off limit for students from various categories. Candidates scoring above the given below marks will be considered for WAT/PI round.

In the second phase, selected candidates will have to participate in WAT/PI. They will be intimated regarding their selection for this round and date via email. The emails will be sent out to candidates in March 2018. Check CAT 2017 cut-off eligibility of every IIM

IIM Nagpur will accept WAT/PI scores of certain other IIMs, for final evaluation. Candidates who are shortlisted and interviewed by any one or more of the IIMs at Bangalore, Calcutta, Indore, Kozhikode, Lucknow (only for their PGP/PGPEM programs), will not be required to appear for IIM Nagpur’s WAT/PI round. For these candidates, their PI/ WAT scores from the above IIMs will be used to derive their PI/WAT scores for IIM Nagpur as follows:

  • If a candidate was shortlisted for PI/WAT of only one of the above mentioned IIMs (IIMs at Bangalore, Calcutta, Indore, Kozhikode, and Lucknow for their PGP/PGPEM programs), her/his PI/WAT score will be used for PI/WAT score for IIMN.
  • If a candidate was selected for PI/WAT of more than one of the above mentioned IIMs, the average of the scores will be considered after removing one score which is the minimum PI/WAT score in the above mentioned IIMs.
  • Candidates who are not shortlisted and Interviewed by any of these IIMs will be required to appear for a PI/WAT to be conducted by IIM Nagpur. Check last year's actual CAT cut-offs for all IIMs

The final selection will be done on the basis of final scores obtained by the candidate. Points attributed to various parameters are as follows:

Candidates selected for admission will be intimated through email in April 2018. Those who will be selected, they will be required to confirm acceptance, by filling the acceptance offer form and paying Rs 50,000 as acceptance fee. This amount will be adjusted in term I fee.

The candidates needs to have passed graduation with alteast 60% marks. A valid score in the accepted exams is also needed. Th exems include CAT, NET and WAT, etc.

IIM Nagpur admission are closed for the year 2025. IIM Nagpur opens admission to most of its courses in the first week on January every year. Candidates are advised to keep checking the official website for the year 2026.

Candidates are shortlisted for IIM Nagpur PI round on the basis of their CAT scores. According to past cutoff trends, general and EWS candidates must try to achieve at least 95% or above in CAT. Hereafter, shortlisted candidates are invited via mail by the institution for PI and WAT rounds.

  • Log on to the official website and register yourself
  • Enter the basic details
  • Upload the photo and signature.

IIM Nagpur accepts CAT scores for all courses except PhD. Selection criteria for the doctoral degree requires a CATUGC score.
