Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) conducts NMAT exam in an online mode. Online NMAT exam is conducted from Pearson VUE centres situated across India. Candidates need to appear at the chosen test centre to appear for the computer based NMAT exam. At the NMAT exam centre, each candidate is allotted a computer system where he/she has to login to take the test. Once the candidate logs in to the computer system, the responses will be recorded against the test taker ID. Further, this test taker ID will be helpful while evaluating performance of indicidual test takers.

The address of CMAT exam centre will be mentioned in the admit card only, which means candidates will know the address of the CMAT test centre allotted to them only after they download their CMAT admit card. The exam authorities will not share the details of any exam centre before the release of CMAT admit card. The NTA however, releases city intimation slip before the admit card which contains the name of the city in which the test centre has been allotted. The city intimation slip is issued a week before the exam to allow candidates to make arrangements for the exam day. If any student belongs to a rural area and their test centre falls in a city, they can make arrangements beforehand if they know which city they have to go to for appearing in the exam.

The Quantitative Aptitude section of CAT is the third and the last section of the question paper. It has 22 questions and the total marks is 66. This section of the CAT exam is usually dominated by Arithmetic and Algebra. Most of the questions out of 22 are asked from these two topics. There are about 7-9 Algebra questions and 7-9 Arithmetic questions (the exact number varied for all three slots). Apart from these two topics, there are questions from Mensuration Modern Math and Number System in the Quantitative Aptitude section CAT. CMAT has five subjects – Quantitative Aptitude, Logical Reasoning, English Comprehension, General Awareness and Innovation & Entrepreneurship and to cover all of them, one will need good enough time. Overall, 3 months are needed to cover syllabus of CMAT and about 2 to 3 months for practice and revision. So, overall 6 months are good for CMAT preparation. 

CAT exam is held in about 170 cities across India. Candidates can choose up to six cities as their preferred test location. The list of test cities for CAT is available in application form. Candidates should choose the test city carefully as the request to change the test city later may or may not be accepted due to non-availability of seats at the centres in that particular city. The CMAT exam is conducted for three hours or 180 minutes. There is no sectional time limit in CMAT unlike in CAT or XAT. No break is given to candidates in between the exam. Extra 30 minutes are granted to PwD candidates for completing the paper. Candidates must manage the three hours in such a way that they get enough time to spend on every section of CMAT exam. Candidates can divide time among all five sections of the CMAT question paper according to their convenience. They must make a time management strategy ahead of the exam so that they are able to solve a good number of questions in each section and reach the sectional cut off. GK is a memory based section and you need to get 8-10 questions correct to get meet the sectional cut off. So attempt it in the end and not spend more than 10 minutes on it.
