I have become more responsible and confident, says Chinmay Zore

ITM Business School is known for its marketing and retail marketing courses. It has highly educated and experienced teachers who not only teach students but also give them an opportunity to work with an organization.
I believe choosing a career path on your own is somewhat risky. I would suggest doing thorough research depending upon your likes and dislikes. I had a good score in X board exams, so I thought of going into the Science stream and then further would complete my graduation in Engineering. I didn’t know at that time that this path which I had chosen was going to be a complete roller-coaster ride. I always wanted to be a Mechanical Engineer because I knew I loved working with machines. I always was fond of a show on Nat-Geo called Mega-Structures which always motivated me to learn how engineering concepts are applied in real life.
I chose to do engineering after doing diploma and not directly after classes XI-XII. The reason for this is that once you do a diploma, you get to know a lot of things that help you in your graduation. I was completely devoted to my studies in diploma which made my course in undergraduate very easy and the main thing was that I never got into any ATKT (backlog subjects). I finished my graduation with a good score. Later, I thought that instead of going completely into core engineering I could also use my knowledge for marketing products or analyzing it. Therefore, in the end, I chose to do MBA in Retail Marketing.
After deciding to do my post-graduation in Business Administration, the first thing was to shortlist the colleges based on their faculty, infrastructure and placements. I never prioritized placements because I knew that if I had the knowledge and skills about my field I would definitely be placed in an organization.
There are many entrance exams that you can give as per your choice. Entrance exams like CET, CAT, SNAP, XAT, NMAT etc. are some of the important examinations that everyone should take. These exams help to boost your confidence and test your abilities as they judge your quantitative, logical and communication skills.
I gave CAT, CET and XAT. I wanted to get admission in JBIMS because it was the best college for marketing but it had a very high cut-off. So I shortlisted few more colleges like KJ Somaiya, ITM Business School, S.P Jain as these colleges have very good faculty for the marketing course.
After getting above-average marks in the entrance exam, I got admission in ITM Business School which is known for its marketing and retail marketing courses. It has highly educated and experienced teachers who not only teach students but also give them an opportunity to work with an organization. They also inspire students to apply all theoretical concepts while working in real life which is also known as Live Project.
ITM provides a number of live projects. According to me, live projects are the best thing any institute can give to their students because the students get to learn a lot of new things and applications of the concepts from them. Life at ITM is very beautiful and the surroundings are so peaceful. As soon as you enter the college campus, you walk through a paved path surrounded by trees on both sides. This campus is not like other campuses, with tall towers and all 21st-century gadgets, but it has a classic vibe that makes you feel calm and composed.
Our college gives us the opportunity to participate in many state level and national level competitions based on management like BMA (Bombay Management Management). I did not even know that I had completed a year in this college. I have participated in various live projects, extra-curricular activities like sports, management talks and tailwind activities. I also completed a course in Python language because I felt that the future was going to revolve around machine learning and artificial intelligence. Therefore, this course will prove useful in the coming times. In this one year, I became more responsible and gained confidence in making some decisions. Apart from this, I also learned about the retail activities happening around me and also considered the need to reform the unorganized retail sector into an organized sector.
