IPMAT exam eligibility criteria 2027 are the requirements to be fulfilled by the candidates in order to appear for the Integrated Programme in Management Aptitude Test (IPMAT) conducted by the Indian Institute of Management Indore (IIM Indore). The eligibility criteria is prescribed by IIM Indore. The IIM Indore IPMAT eligibility criteria is considered by all colleges which accept IPMAT 2027 scores. IPMAT Eligibility Criteria 2027

To appear for the IPMAT Indore 2027 exam, these eligibility criteria need to be met by the applicant:

  • Applicants should have scored a minimum of 60% aggregate in Class 10 and Class 12 or equivalent CGPA in the case of the General and NC OBC categories.
  • Applicants belonging to SC, ST or PwD (DA) categories must have secured at least 55% aggregate or equivalent CGPA in Class 10 and Class 12.
  • Applicants must have passed the qualifying exam in the years 2025, 2026, or appearing in 2027.
  • Applicants in the final year of Class 12 or awaiting the results are also eligible to apply provisionally.

State-wise Eligibility Criteria for General and NC/OBC category

  • Applicants applying for the IPMAT exam should have obtained a minimum of 60% aggregate in both Class 10 and Class 12 or the overall score of SAT should be 1600 out of 2400.

State-wise Eligibility Criteria for SC, ST and PWD/DA category

  • Applicants applying for the exam should have obtained a minimum of 55% aggregate in both Class 10 and Class 12 or the overall score of SAT should be 1475 out of 2400.

IPMAT Indore Eligibility Criteria for International Applicants

IPMAT 2027 eligibility criteria for international applicants are provided below:

  • Applicants must have passed the qualifying exam in the years 2025, 2026, or be appearing in 2027.
  • Applicants must have secured at least 1300 out of 1600 in the SAT from November 1, 2025, to June 30, 2027.
  • Candidates who are in the final year of HSc can also apply provisionally.

Q:   Can I appear for IPMAT more than once?
A: 

No, IPMAT is conducted only once a year. Candidates have to wait for the next session if they miss this year's exam. The IPMAT exam is being conducted in the CBT (computer-based test) mode. Based on the IPM Aptitude Test scores, students can apply for admission to integrated management programme offered by the prestigious Indian Institute of Managment, Indore. The exam will only be conducted in the computer-based test mode for all the sessions across various cities. The difficulty level of the IPMAT exam is usually moderate and the candidates can easily prepare for this exam. Candidates who wish to appear for the IPMAT exam need to apply on the official website of IIM Indore and fill out the IPMAT application form once the application window opens. IPMAT is held in about 28 test cities across the country, and the students need to visit the exam centre in order to take the exam.

Q:   Is there an age limit in the IPMAT exam?

Yes, there is maximum age limit to appear for the IPMAT exam. The students appearing for the IPMAT exam must be a maximum of 20 years of age as of July 31, of the given year. The IPMAT exam is open to students who have recently passed Class 12 or are still awating the Class 12 results. IPMAT is conducted by IIM Indore and is accepted by some of the top institutes such as IIM Indore, IIFT, Nirma University, IIM Ranchi, Alliance University, NICMAR and NALSAR University. Any candidate who has scored a minimum of 60% aggregate in Class 10/SSC and Class 12/ HSC or equivalent examination in the case of the General and NC-OBC categories is eligible to apply for the IPMAT exam. 

Q:   How many attempts are there in IIM Indore IPM entrance exam?
A: 

The attempts at IPMAT Indore depend on the age criteria of the candidate. The eligibility criteria in terms of age for this entrance is that the candidate should be a maximum of 20 years of age as of July 31, 2026, (for IPMAT Indore 2026) if you belong to the General, OBC or EWS category. Whereas there is 5-year relaxation for SC, ST and PWD candidates.

The IPMAT exam is conducted only once a year, and the candidates must aim to crack the exam on the first attempt. However, if they did not score well in the first attempt and their eligibility is still valid for the next year, then the students can definitely give a second try at the exam. 

Q:   Is the IPMAT cut-off the same for IIM Indore and IIM Rohtak?
A: 

No the IPMAT cutoff for IIM INdore and IIM Rohtak are not the same. Both the IIMs conduct different IPMAT exams. IIM Indore conducts IPMAT Indore and the exam conducted by IIM Rohtak is called the IPMAT Rohtak exam. Thus, both the institues have different cutoff and selection processes. Various factors such as number of applicants, difficulty level, number of seats available for the programme and overall performance of the candidates affect different cutoffs. 

IPMAT Age Limit

The age limit that needs to be adhered to while appearing for the IPMAT 2027 exam is provided below:

  • Applicants belonging to the General or NC OBC category must not be more than 20 years of age as of July 31, 2027, at the time of filling out the IPMAT application form 2027.
  • The age should not be more than 22 years as of July 31, 2027, for the applicants belonging to SC, ST, PwD (DA) categories.
  • Candidates belonging to the Foreign Nationals category must have been born on or after August 1, 2007.

  • Candidates in the final year of the qualifying exam or awaiting the results can apply provisionally for IPMAT 2027.
  • Candidates need to produce Class 10 and Class 12 mark sheets along with a school-leaving certificate at the time of admission.
