Q:   How many attempts are there in IIM Indore IPM entrance exam?
A:

The attempts at IPMAT Indore depend on the age criteria of the candidate. The eligibility criteria in terms of age for this entrance is that the candidate should be a maximum of 20 years of age as of July 31, 2026, (for IPMAT Indore 2026) if you belong to the General, OBC or EWS category. Whereas there is 5-year relaxation for SC, ST and PWD candidates.

The IPMAT exam is conducted only once a year, and the candidates must aim to crack the exam on the first attempt. However, if they did not score well in the first attempt and their eligibility is still valid for the next year, then the students can definitely give a second try at the exam.

Q:   Can I appear for IPMAT as I didn't opt for maths in HSC?
A:

Yes, one can appear for the IPMAT exam even if they didn't have mathematics in Class 12. There are no specific requirements of the IPMAT exam for having studied mathematics. IPMAT stands for Integrated programme in Management Aptitude Test and is conducted by IIM Indore for admission to their five-year Integrated Management Program. Various other prominent institutes also accept the IPMAT scores, including IIM Ranchi and IIFT. However, in general, having mathematics in HSC can be beneficial for the students appearing for the IPMAT exam, as two of the three IPMAT sections are based on mathematics topics. Students who have not studied maths in HSC may be required to put in a bit more effort for the IPMAT preparation.
