These are first-hand student accounts on how our young population is managing to keep their exam prep or college course work going from the confines of their homes. In case you want to share your lockdown study experience, write to us at publish@shiksha.com.

Our college is making the best efforts for students’ safety as well as to keep students on the educative track. They are monitoring the daily updates of the students. The faculty members also keep in touch with the students through calls. The college is ensuring that students get the maximum benefit from this lockdown period and it should not affect their studies and placements.

To tackle the current situation, our college is trying its best to keep the students engaged so that it will be helpful in their placement process. Online classes are being conducted according to the schedule. Our faculty members have a free meeting with all the students weekly once so that it will be easy to track students’ activities. Online classes are also as effective as normal classes. It helps us to cover our syllabus so that we will be prepared when the exams are scheduled. Doubts are also being clarified now. Faculty put their best efforts even in meetings to make all the students understand the concept. Students are given liberty to stop the teacher anytime, anywhere, and clarify their doubts then and there itself.

Online classes are also being conducted via Zoom app and each student’s presence is mandatory. All the students are allocated with summer projects based on the domain they choose. And based on their domain and topics, the faculty guide has also been allocated so that it will be easy for the students to clarify their doubts personally.

Summer project work updates are to be mailed to the respective guide seeking approval. The students are asked to do as many as online courses needed from reputed websites and certificates are to be submitted on the day we start our regular classes. Summer projects are a part of internal assessment so that we will have an added advantage when we sit for placements. Summer projects are being done in a similar way as that of the internship. Reports should be submitted and viva voce will be held after the college reopens.

Our college is conducting many webinars based on the e-learning platform. We have been given access to many online portals. We can go through many online journals and books through our college library whenever there is a need.
