
MICAT 2025 Exam Analysis: Mudra Institute of Communication, Ahmedabad (MICA) conducted the first phase of MICAT exam on December 7. The exam pattern and syllabus was similar to the past session. Several candidates reported that the exam started late. The first thirty minutes were allotted for the Psychometric Test (Section A), with 150 questions. Section B of MICAT 2025, Descriptive Test, comprised four questions to be answered within 25 minutes. The last section, i.e. Section C, had four subsections with a total 70 questions to be answered within 80 minutes.

MICAT 2025 Analysis: Highlights
MICAT is conducted in two phases; highlights of the first phase of MICAT 2025 are as follows:
- Overall difficulty level of the exam was moderate with the exam being time consuming.
- In the Psychometric Test, 117 questions had ordinal options (Totally agree, strongly agree, somewhat agree ..., totally disagree)
- 33 questions in the Psychometric test had binary options (True/False)
- The descriptive test had a statement. Candidates had to provide 3 points each for and against the statement. Additionally, candidates had to mention their opinions about the problem.
- The descriptive test also had a picture perception question with four images
- Luggage
- Man in a market
- A fly on butter served on a plate
- A metallic camel
- In the picture perception question, candidates have to make a story connecting four images in one story.
- Sentence fillers from Verbal Ability had a weightage of six questions.
- RC had a topic related to people on social media.
- In QA and DI, maximum questions appeared from Arithmetic.
- Coding-Decoding had maximum weightage with 7-8 questions in Divergent and Convergent Thinking.
- General Awareness section had 2 match the following type questions, and eight MCQ type questions.
- In some questions, candidates found up to eight options.

Section Wise MICAT 2025 Phase I Analysis
The MICAT 2025 exam had three sections. The last section had four sub-sections. Apart from the sectional time limit, the MICAT test structure was in line with previous sessions. Space below mentions the section-wise MICAT exam analysis:
MICAT 2025 Analysis for Section A: Psychometric Test
The Psychometric Test of MICAT 2025 had 150 questions to be answered within 30 minutes. The section is designed to test the psychological thinking of the candidate. Questions in the Psychometric Test are designed to ask questions that revolve around specific situations. Candidates found the section to be lengthy.
- With specific situational questions, candidates were asked about their opinion if they agree or disagree
- Besides the situation based questions, candidates had to answer true and false type questions
This year, the Psychometric test involved a total of 117 questions with up to eight options as mentioned below:

MICAT 2025 Analysis for Section B: Descriptive Test
The Descriptive Test of MICAT 2025 had four questions to be answered within 25 minutes. A statement related to merit in the hierarchy appeared in the descriptive test. The statement brings along three questions. Candidates had to write three points for the motion, three points against the motion and the third question from the statement is to analyse 'Young Manager's Decision Making’.
The last question in this section had four images based on which candidates had to frame an essay integrating all the images. The images for the essay writing were as follows:

MICAT 2025 Analysis for Section C
Section C has four subsections to be answered within 80 minutes. Candidates are allowed to navigate across the subsections. Three subsections had 20 questions each with no sectional time limit. While, one section had 10 questions.

The VARC section or the Verbal Ability section had 20 questions. The type of questions asked in the section was fill in the blanks based on words and idioms. There were three RCs, students found the comprehension to be a bit on the tougher side with difficult vocabulary. The comprehensions were based on:
