Q:   What is the marking scheme in BMAT?

A:

The BMAT exam is conducted in the computer-based test mode and the BMAT question paper has multiple-choice questions. The marking scheme for the BMAT exam is as follows:

  1. Total Marks: The total marks for BVP BMAT is 200. 

  2. Correct Answers: Candidates are awarded marks for each correct answer. Candidates are awarded one mark for each correct answer. 

  3. Negative Marking: There is no negative marking for incorrect answers

  4. Unanswered Questions: Unanswered questions typically do not attract any marks. Therefore, candidates are encouraged to attempt all questions, even if they are unsure about the answers, as there is no penalty for incorrect responses.

Current Affairs: The Current Affairs section will consist of questions from static General Knowledge, History, Geography, Current Affairs, National and International happenings in politics, business, trade and economy, governance, sports, personalities and awards, books, etc.

Mathematics: The mathematics section will consist of MCQs of various topics studied till Class 10, such as Number Systems, Algebra, Coordinate Geometry, Geometry, Trigonometry, Mensuration, Statistics and Probability

Quantitative Ability: The Quantitative Ability section will consist of questions from topics such as Median, Installments and Payments, Partnership, Clocks, Work and Time, Pipe and Cisterns, Lines, Cubes and Cones, Work and Time, Time, Speed, Distance, Partnership, Mode, BODMAS, etc.

Abstract and Logical Reasoning: Abstract and Logical Reasoning section will include questions on topics such as Tables, Bars, Pie-Charts, Line Graphs, Blood Relations, Puzzles, Arrangements, Data Structures, Series, Coding-Decoding, Clocks and Calendars, and Direction.

Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension: This section will contain questions that will challenge and analyse the candidates’ knowledge of the English Language and comprehension skills. The section will have questions on English Grammar and will require candidates to answer questions on the basis of given passages, fill in the blanks, word meaning, a different form of word usage, etc.

Computer Awareness: This section will test the candidates’ basic knowledge of computers.

Management skills: This section will check the candidates; flair for business and management and their general aptitude in the field.
