To prepare for BMAT exam first thing, is have a study plan and routine which is to be followed. It should have entire BMAT syllabus. It should also have room for practicing mocks, previous year question papers and revision. All these practices along will fetch students a good BMAT score.

Mentioned below are some of the important sub-topics of the BMAT syllabus:

  1. English Language and Comprehension: This section will contain questions that will challenge and analyse the candidates’ knowledge of the English Language and comprehension skills. The section will have questions on English Grammar and will require candidates to answer questions based on given passages, fill in the blanks, word meaning, a different form of word usage, etc.
  2. Numerical Ability: The mathematics section will consist of MCQs of various topics studied till Class 10, such as Number Systems, Algebra, Coordinate Geometry, Geometry, Trigonometry, Mensuration, Statistics and Probability. It will also consist of some other topics, including Median, Instalments and Payments, Partnership, Clocks, Work and Time, Pipe and Cisterns, Lines, Cubes and Cones, Work and Time, Time, Speed, Distance, Partnership, Mode, BODMAS, etc.
  3. Logical Reasoning: The Abstract and Logical Reasoning section will include questions on topics such as Tables, Bars, Pie-Charts, Line Graphs, Blood Relations, Puzzles, Arrangements, Data Structures, Series, Coding-Decoding, Clocks and Calendars, and Direction.
  4. Management skills: This section will check the candidates; flair for business and management and their general aptitude in the field.

The Abstract and Logical Reasoning section of the BVP BMAT exam has the highest weightage in terms of the questions as well as the marks. There are 50 multiple choice questions which carry one mark each. Then comes the Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension section which has 40 multiple-choice questions and each question carries one mark. The Mathematics section has the third highest weightage with 30 marks in total. The rest of the sections have 20 marks each.
