UPESMET is a medium-difficulty level MBA entrance exam. Candidates who are already preparing for MBA entrance exams like CAT, XAT or SNAP, would not require a separate study plan for the UPESMET exam. However, If a candidate is primarily focussing on the UPESMET exam, then they should start preparation at least three to four months before the exam. UPESMET exam date for each phase is announced by UPES on the official website. The examination is held in multiple phases every year. Candidates can apply for the UPESMET exam as per the phase wise cutoff dates. The exam is held online protcored mode. Candidates having valid score in CAT, XAT, CMAT or any other national level entrance exam will be exempted from taking UPESMET exam. The exam is usually conducted every saturday.

The UPESMET question paper comprises four parts including General English, Quantitative Aptitude, General Awareness and Analytical & Logical Reasoning. To solve the question paper with 100 per cent accuracy, one needs to make an exam preparation plan, which covers all the aspects of UPESMET. So, here’s what to do:

This section will test your Grammar and Reading Comprehension skills. During the initial phase of preparation, aspirants should focus on reading comprehension and develop a habit of reading long passages. UPESMET Preparation: General Awareness

This section allows you to score quickly without wasting any time. To score well in General Awareness, candidates should keep themselves abreast with the latest developments around the world.  They can cover a variety of topics including everyday science, awards & honours sports, literature, science, economics, history, etc. Aspirants should make a list of date-wise development for at least a period of three months. Q:   How many sections are in UPESMET?
A: 

UPES Management Entrance Test (UPESMET) is conducted for admission to MBA programme of UPES School of Business. UPESMET question paper will consist of questions four sections viz., English,  Quantitative Aptitude,  General Awareness and Analytical Reasoning. The General English part will have questions from Reading Comprehension, Verbal Reasoning and Verbal Ability. In the Quantitative Aptitude section, questions will be asked from Data Interpretation & Data Sufficiency. The General Awareness section will have questions from General Knowledge, Current Affairs and Business Scenario.

UPESMET Preparation: Why Practice Mocks Tests?

Practising UPESMET mock tests is an integral part of the preparation process. It is the best way of self-assessment and helps students evaluate their performance based on their preparation. Ideally, candidates should practice at least 15-20 mock tests before appearing for the actual exam.

Q:   Are there subjective-type questions in the UPESMET exam?
A: 
No, the UPESMET will not have subjective-type questions. UPESMET is a computer based test inclusive of 140 multiple choice questions (MCQs) that candidates must answer in two hours. Each question will have four options, candidates will be required select the correct answer.
UPESMET exam covers three sections
  • General English
  • Quantitative Aptitude
  • General Awareness
  • Analytical and Logical Reasoning
The UPESMET exam is designed to assess a candidate's knowledge and skills in related fields.  The UPESMET exam is conducted online. Candidates receive one mark for each correct answer with no negative marking.
Q:   Does UPESMET has sectional time limit?
A: 

No, UPESMET exam does not have sectional time limit to appear for the exam. However, students will be required to complete the exam in pre informed exam duration i.e, two hours/ 120 minutes and no extra time will be granted to the students under any circumstances. UPESMET is a computer-based online exam the test screen will move from first section to the next section only when the candidate clicks the next button. Candidates have to be mindful of the on-screen timer and pre-decide the number of questions to solve in each section as there will be negative markings. It is not mandatory to solve all the questions in UPESMET exam so candidates can devise a strategy to use the exam duration as per their strength and weakness. Candidates must reach the exam centre at least an hour prior to complete the frisking formalities at the UPESMET exam centre.

The full form for UPESMET is UPES Management Entrance Test. It is an management entrance test conducted by University of Petroleum and Energy Studies for admission to MBA/PGDM programe of UPES School of Business. Candidates seeking admision to Post graduate programe of UPES must appear for the exam. Candidates having valid score in national level management entrance exams like CAT, XAT, MAT, CMAT, etc. will be exemted from taking the UPESMET exam. Candidates will be required to fill the application form to be eligible for appearing in group discussion and personal interview rounds. UPESMET is conducted in multiple sessions in a year. Candidates can chose the date of examination as per their convenience.

Q:   How can I download UPESMET admit card?
A: 

UPESMET exam will be coducted in AI proctored mode. Candidates will not be required to appear at the exam centre to take the entrance test. Hence, the admit card for UPESMET will be issued to the candidates on their registered email ID. Only candidates who will register for UPESMET successfully, will receive the UPESMET admit card soon after the payment of application fee. To download the UPESMET admit card refer the steps mentioned below:

No, you do not need to apply separately for the UPESMET exam if you have already scored well in the CAT or any other national level MBA entrance exam. As per the latest guidelines of the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies Business School, which conducts the UPESMET you are eligible for admission into UPES Business School with other management test scores apart from the UPESMET. The following exam scores are accepted for admission to the MBA courses:
