Refer to the question papers of previous years
The question papers of the previous years play a pivotal role in the preparation of NEET MDS. Referring to the question papers in the early stages of preparation will help the candidates determine the type of questions that can be asked in the examination. This will also give them an understanding of what to expect from the question paper. During the later stages of preparation, NEET MDS question papers can be solved for practice purposes. It will also ensure that the candidates are able to attempt the questions that have been repeated.
Prepare a time-table
To crack NEET MDS in the first attempt one must remain focused. Other than from cutting down the distractions, one also needs to follow a strict timetable during the preparation phase. It will ensure that the candidate gets enough time for self-study each day. It will also help them plan the chapters that need to be completed in a certain week/month.
Revise daily
NEET MDS preparation is nothing but a revision of everything that has been taught from the first to final year of BDS. Therefore, revision must take up most of the time that has been allocated to self-study. Along with revision, one must also find out the gaps that were left during the previous years. Dedicate an hour a day to complete those chapters that were missed.
Balance the assignments and the preparation
During the final year and internship, one may have a lot of assignments especially in Prosthodontics. At this stage one must let go of the habit of taking work home. They must try to finish the pre-clinical work during the college hours and avoid taking it home. The slow pile-up of the chapters that were planned for the day some work was brought home will eventually lead to demotivation. Hence, one must avoid it and try to maintain the balance between these two.
Solve mock tests and practice papers
The last tip to crack NEET MDS in the first attempt is to solve mock tests and sample papers. These question papers will give a candidate exposure to questions of varying difficulty levels. They will also help them in determining the topics that need more work. NEET MDS mock tests will also help the candidates develop a habit of solving questions while maintaining the speed required to complete it. Another advantage of solving mock tests is that they keep one from marking random answers, thus, avoiding penalties for incorrect answers.
