NEET MDS 2023 counselling process has concluded for the academic year 2024-25. The NEET MDS 2023 counselling special stray vacancy round result was declared on November 24. As many as six candidates were allotted seats out of 71 vacant seats that were available in this round. The institute reporting process was conducted from November 25 to November 30

The registration and choice filling rounds were conducted from November 17 to November 22. The choice filling process started a day later, on November 18. The choice locking process was conducted on November 22, from 4 PM to 11.59 PM.

Earlier, the Ministry of Health announced the reduction of NEET MDS 2023 cutoff percentile by 31.807 for all categories. The Ministry had directed NBE to announce result for NEET MDS 2023 as per the revised cutoff.

NEET MDS counselling was conducted for providing admission to postgraduate dental courses offered by Deemed Universities, Central Universities, Armed Forces Medical Services, ESIC colleges and 50 per cent All India Quota seats of the dental colleges in India. Around 1,300 MDS seats available through the All India Quota (AIQ), Deemed, Central and ESIC institutes will be filled through the counselling process. 

NEET MDS 2023 counselling for the AIQ seats was conducted in five rounds including the special stray vacancy round. Candidates who qualified for NEET MDS 2023 with the minimum cut off percentile will be eligible to participate in the counselling for seat allocation. For general category candidates, NEET MDS qualifying cutoff 2023 is 50th percentile, while for those who belong to SC/ST/OBC category, the cutoff is 40th. NEET MDS 2023 exam was conducted on March 1. NEET MDS 2024 exam will be conducted on March 18, 2024, and the result will be declared on or before April 18, 2024. Accordingly, the NEET MDS counselling for 2024 is likely to be conducted from May 2024 onwards. The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) is the conducting body for NEET MDS counselling. 

 

Q:   Has MCC announced dates for NEET MDS 2023 counselling?

A:

MCC announced the dates for the Special Stray Vacancy round on November 17. The registration process was conducted from November 17 to November 22 and the choice filling and locking rounds were scheduled from November 18 to November 22. The provisional result has been declared on November 24 and the final result will be declared on November 25, after 10 AM. This will be followed by institute reporting process between November 25 to November 30.

Earlier, MCC announced revised dates for NEET MDS 2023 counselling stray vacancy round. Registration process had started on October 9. Last date for stray vacancy round registration was October 12. Seat allotment result for stray vacancy round NEET MDS counselling 2023 was declared on October 16. On September 21, cut off percentile was reduced for each category. It must be noted candidates who qualify NEET MDS with the minimum cut off will be participating in the counselling. Candidates have to register on the official website of MCC, mcc. nic.in and declare choice for college and course for counselling. It must be noted that whole counselling process will be held online.

 

 

Q:   What will be the venue for NEET MDS 2023 counselling?

A:

NEET MDS counselling 2023 was conducted online. Candidates participating in the counselling of NEET MDS 2023 had to register on the official website of MCC to attend it. Qualifying NEET MDS with the minimum cut off is one of the eligiblity criteria to participate in the counselling rounds. The counselling is expected to begin in the first week of July. Candidates had to register on the official website and exercise choices for college and course for NEET MDS 2023 seat allotment. MCC releases seat allotment result based on choice declared, availablity of seats in college and course, reservation factor etc.

 

 

Q:   What documents are required at the time of online registration and choice filling for NEET MDS 2023 counselling?

A:

Candidates filling the registration form of NEET MDS 2023 counselling are required to keep their application form and admit card handy. These details will have to be filled in the registration form as well. Candidates are advised to read the information brochure for NEET MDS counselling carefully before making registration online. Candidates will have to register on the official website, mcc.nic.in and declare choice for college and course for NEET MDS 2023 counselling. The counselling dates will be released tentatively in the last week of June. 

 

NEET MDS 2023 Counselling: Eligibility Criteria

Only a candidate who qualify NEET MDS 2023 will be eligible to attend the counselling. To qualify for the examination, a candidate needs to score more than or equal to the NEET MDS 2023 cut off set by the DCI.

NEET MDS Counselling 2023 Process

Registration

  • To participate in the NEET MDS 2023 counselling a candidate has to register himself/ herself on the portal of MCC
  • It is a one-time process and candidates who register on the portal for the first round do not have to register again for the subsequent rounds
  • He/ she has to go to the official website of MCC - mcc.nic.in and select “PG Medical Counselling”
  • Now select “New Registration” and proceed with the registration process
  • To register, a candidate needs to enter the following information: NEET MDS roll number, the application number, date of birth, etc.
  • Upon completion of the registration process, the candidate will receive the login credentials for his/ her registered account

Completing the form and filling in the requisite details

  • Candidates now have to fill in the details such as father’s name, address, category, etc. in the registration form and complete it
  • One must note that the details filled in during this stage of registration cannot be changed later and thus, a candidate must fill in this information carefully

Registration fee

  • After completing the registration form a candidate needs to pay a non-refundable registration fee
  • Without paying the registration fee, they will not be able to submit the registration form
  • The registration fee of NEET MDS counselling 2023 has to be paid online (Credit card/ Debit card/ Net banking)
  • After the payment is processed successfully a registration slip will be displayed
  • The candidate must print this registration slip and keep it safe for future use

Choice filling and locking of preferences

  • Candidates login into their registered account on the MCC portal
  • They then have to choose from among the choices provided on the left side of the screen
  • To add to the list, select the “+” button provided after every option
  • The option selected by the candidate will move from the left side of the screen to the right side of the screen
  • The candidate can also change the order of preference by moving the options up or down in the list
  • Once they are satisfied with the selection, they must click on “Save and continue” followed by “Save and go home page” to exit
  • Take a printout of the choices filled and keep it safe for future reference
  • This process can be repeated after every round and the choices can be edited for the subsequent round

Q:   I forgot to lock my choices for NEET MDS counselling. Will I get a seat?

A:

Choice filling in the given deadline is mandatory for seat allotment. If you have filled in the choices and saved them, they will be considered during the seat allotment process. However, if you haven't filled in the choices, you will have to wait till the next round of NEET MDS counselling 2023. Candidates do have to declare choice for college and course in the given timeframe. They also have to lock the choice otherwise it gets automatically locked after the deadline and candidates can't modify them. Seats will be allotted in different counselling rounds based on choice declaration, availability of seats in particular college and course, reservation factor etc.

 

Q:   Will NBE conduct NEET MDS 2023 counselling?

A:

No. NEET MDS 2023 counselling will be held by Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). NBE only conducts the exam. Candidates have to register on the official website to participate in the counselling. A total of 4 rounds of counsleling will be conducted for allotment of 50% All India Quota seats. Respective state authorities will be conducting counselling for rest 50% seat allotment. Dates and crucial deatisl for NEET MDS 2023 counselling will be released along with official information brochure on the official website.

 

Q:   How many choices can I fill during NEET MDS counselling?

A:

There is no limit on the number of choices that a candidate can fill during the counselling of NEET MDS 2023. These choices, however, should be in the order of preference as desired by the candidate. It must be noted choices have to be locked in the given deadline other it gets automatically locked. Candidates are advised to fill choices carefully as it can't be modified once the timeframe ends. Seats will be allotted based on choice declared by candidates and other factors. Total 4 rounds of NEET MDS 2023 counselling will be held for allotment of 50% All India quota seats.

 

Q:   Can I make offline registration for NEET MDS counselling?

A:

No, candidates will have to make online registration to participate in the counseling process for NEET MDS 2023 seat allotment. Registration can be done on the official website, mcc.nic.in once counselling begins. Registration is mandatory to become eligible for seat allotment process. Registration will be followed by choice declaration. Candidates can declare choice of their prefrence and lock them. Registration can be done in any round except last round of NEET MDS 2023 counselling. Total 4 rounds of counselling will be held for NEET MDS 2023 seat allotment.

 

NEET MDS Seat Allotment 2023

NEET MDS seat allotment list refers to the result of the counselling process. Once the registration process is completed and candidates have submitted their choices, MCC prepares a list of the candidates according to their merit positions. The seats are allocated on the basis of the merit position of a candidate and the preferences filled by him/ her.

MCC then releases the result of NEET MDS counselling in the form of a seat allotment list. Candidates who are allocated a seat in the list have to report to the allocated institute for document verification and confirmation of the seat.

What documents should you carry to the NEET MDS counselling 2023?

A candidate who was allocated a seat through the NEET MDS 2023 counselling needed to report to the allocated institute for verification of the documents. For confirmation of the seat allocated, he/she needed to carry the following documents

  • NEET MDS result 2023
  • NEET MDS Admit card 2023
  • BDS degree certificate
  • BDS marksheets
  • Internship Completion Certificate (stating that the candidate has completed his/ her internship on or before March 31, 2023)
  • Registration Certificate from the Dental Council of India (DCI) or State Dental Council (SDC)
  • Birth Certificate or class 10 marksheet
  • Photo Id proof (PAN card/ Driving Licence/ Voter ID/ Aadhaar card/ Passport)
  • Caste Certificate (SC/ ST/ OBC, if applicable)
  • Disability Certificate issued by the medical board (if applicable)

Q:   What is the fees to be paid during the online registration for NEET MDS counselling?

A:

At the time of registration for NEET MDS counselling, a candidate needs to pay two kinds of fee, refundable and non refundable.  Non-refundable: A candidate who wishes to participate in the counselling of NEET MDS 2023 has to pay a non-refundable registration fee for the submission of choices and Refundable: During the registration process a candidate is also required to pay a part of the tuition fee. This will be refunded to the candidate if he/ she is not allocated a seat in the counselling process. Candidates do have to pay both fees during registration for NEET MDS 2023 counselling.

 

Q:   Will I be eligible to participate in the NEET MDS counselling if I do not qualify for the exam?

A:

No, candidates have to qualify NEET MDS 2024 to become eligible for NEET MDS 2024 counselling.  It is also to be noted candidates have to qualify NEET MDS exam with the minimum cut off which vary for each category. The minimum cut off percentile for general category candidates is 50 while for SC/ST, the cut off is 40th. Elligible candidates have to register on the official website, mcc.nic.in to participate in the counselling for NEET MDS 2024. Registration is followed by choice declaration. Candidates can declare as many choices as they want to in order of their prefrences.

 

Q:   Is registration mandatory to participate in NEET MDS 2023 counselling process?

A:
