IGNOU to Conduct 38th Convocation on March 5; 2.8 Lakh Degrees to Be Conferred

The IGNOU's 38th convocation will be graced by Union Minister of Education Dharmendra Pradhan, and the event will be broadcast on Swayam Prabha Channel and GyanDarshan TV to ensure widespread accessibility.
The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) will conduct its 38th Convocation on March 5, 2025. The event will be conducted with simultaneous ceremonies at regional centers in India and overseas. During the event, the university will confer approximately 2.8 Lakh degrees, diplomas, and certificates to eligible candidates across the country. Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan will be the chief guest of the event and will deliver the convocation address during the event.
To make the IGNOU 38th convocation accessible to a wide audience, the event will be streamed live on several platforms, including:
- IGNOU’s YouTube Channel (eGyankosh)
- Official Facebook page (@OfficialPageIGNOU)
- SWAYAM PRABHA Channels (11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16)
Additionally, the event will be broadcast live on GyanDarshan TV, IGNOU’s dedicated channel.
Students who have completed their program of study in the December 2023 and June 2024 examinations are eligible for the award of the original certificate at this Convocation. Students must attend the Convocation and collect their certificates from their designated Regional Centre. Certificates will not be available for collection at any other Regional Centre.
If the Convocation is not conducted at the student's assigned Regional Centre for any reason, they will need to attend the event at a nearby Regional Centre. If the student did not reach the nearby regional centre, then the Degree, Diploma, or Certificate will be mailed to the student's address. It must be noted that only students who have registered online for the 38th convocation are eligible to appear for the convocation.
