IIT Bombay students received a total of 21 international offers on day one.

IIT Bombay Placements 2020: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bombay commenced its annual placement drive on December 1, 2020. According to the official reports, on day one around 35 companies participated in the placement event to offered around 400 jobs to fresh graduates within two days. Sony Japan made the highest package of Rs 1.63 crore on the first day. IIT Bombay students received a total of 21 international offers on day one. Whereas companies such as Optiver (Netherlands), Honda R&D (Japan), and TSMC (Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company) made the highest number of offers. The selection count by the end of day one was 155.Β 

For national jobs, Texas Instruments, Google, Microsoft, Qualcomm, Mastercard, and Boston Consulting Group made the highest numbers of offers. Day one was concluded with 313 job offers including PPO & PSU. 16 companies made more than 64 job offers in various sectors on the second day. Prominent international offers were made by Sysmex Corporation (Japan). For the domestic jobs, the highest number of offers were made by Oracle, American Express & Bajaj Auto.

The highest offers made until now apart from Sony Japan is Honda (R&D) Japan with Rs 82 lakh package, NEC Japan offered Rs 49.24 lakh JPY/annum and TSMC with 20.70 lakh-TWD/annum.

IITs kickstarted their placement session on December 1. According to the reports, many students have already bagged offers as high as 1.54 crores from international companies. The packages for domestic companies also witnessed a sharp rise to about 80 lakhs this year for all top IITs including IIT Madras, Bombay, Roorkee, Guwahati, etc.
