IIM Bodh Gaya Signs MoU with Bihar Planning & Development Department for Official Training

This agreement aims to enhance the capabilities of government officials and improve the overall functioning of the department. Under the terms of the MoU, officials from the Planning & Development Department will participate in a phased training program.

The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Bodh Gaya has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Planning & Development Department of Bihar to provide comprehensive training in management, leadership, and skill development for its officials. This agreement aims to enhance the capabilities of government officials and improve the overall functioning of the department.

Structured Training Sessions

Under the terms of the MoU, officials from the Planning & Development Department will participate in a phased training program. Each batch will undergo a six-day residential training session conducted at IIM Bodh Gaya, where they will be equipped with modern management techniques and skills.

Senthil Kumar, I.A.S., Principal Secretary of the Planning & Development Department, expressed his optimism regarding the initiative. “This MoU aims to equip officials with the necessary skills to enhance their work culture, optimize office management, and ultimately increase revenue,” he stated during his visit to the IIM Bodh Gaya campus.

Focus on Leadership and Effectiveness

Dr. Vinita Sahay, Director of IIM Bodh Gaya, emphasized the program's focus on management, leadership, and skill development. “Our goal is to enable officials to perform their duties more effectively, thereby contributing positively to the state’s development,” she said.

Importance of the Planning & Development Department

The Planning & Development Department plays a crucial role in Bihar's governance, responsible for formulating, implementing, and determining policies that meet the state’s development needs. Its key wings include the Bihar State Planning Board, Directorate of Economics and Statistics, and various local development agencies.

Strengthening State Services

This collaboration is a significant step toward enhancing the skills of officials within the Planning & Development Department, ultimately improving public services in Bihar. IIM Bodh Gaya has a track record of providing leadership and management training to various government departments, including the Water Resource Department, State Health Society, and Bihar Police Academy.
