The collaboration between IIM Sambalpur and NHRDN is set to provide a unique platform for over 20,000 active members, including senior HR professionals, academicians, and students.

Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Sambalpur has become the first Indian Institute of Management (IIM) to establish a chapter of the National HRD Network (NHRDN) on its campus. The launch event, held in New Delhi, marks a significant step towards creating a platform for knowledge sharing and thought leadership in the field of Human Resource Development (HRD) in India.

Strengthening Industry-Academia Collaboration

The collaboration between IIM Sambalpur and NHRDN is set to provide a unique platform for over 20,000 active members, including senior HR professionals, academicians, and students. The chapter aims to facilitate thought-provoking discussions, promote best HR practices, and undertake projects to shape the future of HR in India. Through this partnership, IIM Sambalpur aims to merge the research-driven approach of academia with the expertise of HR professionals to provide actionable insights and innovative HR solutions.

A Landmark Achievement for IIM Sambalpur

This chapter will be NHRDN’s 52nd chapter globally, with additional chapters in Singapore, the Middle East, and Nepal, along with 9 student chapters. The establishment of the NHRDN chapter at IIM Sambalpur is a historic move, as it becomes the first IIM to house such a chapter. The collaboration will enable IIM Sambalpur to enhance its engagement with the HR community and contribute to the development of future-ready HR leaders in the country.

Professor Mahadeo Jaiswal, Director of IIM Sambalpur, emphasized the significance of this collaboration in shaping future HR leaders. “Our partnership with the National HRD Network aligns with our core values and mission to contribute to the development of HR leaders who are equipped with contemporary HR strategies,” he said. The chapter will organize cutting-edge programs, collaborative research, workshops, seminars, and networking events to enhance professional skills and expand industry connections for students and professionals alike.

The event saw prominent personalities from the HR and corporate sectors, including Prem Singh, President, Group HR, JK Organisation, who hosted the event, and Arun Maira, Author and Thought Leader, who graced the occasion as the chief guest. Dharm Rakshit, HR Head at Hero MotoCorp Ltd, was also present to share his insights. Professor Poonam Kumar, Chairperson of MBA and Working Professionals, Delhi Campus, IIM Sambalpur, and Mr. Sanjay Sharma, Chief of Corporate Relations, IIM Sambalpur, along with students, were also part of the distinguished gathering.
