SBI Likely to Release 18,000 Vacancies in FY26
SBI Recruitment: The State Bank of India (SBI) is expected to launch its biggest recruitment drive in ten years in FY26, with plans to recruit around 18,000 people, including 13,500 to 14,000 clerical staff, 3,000 Probationary and Local Bank Officers, and 1,600 System Officers to strengthen its tech capabilities. As per media reports, SBI chairman CS Setty stated that the hiring drive is in line with the bank's tech-driven transformation.
Major Intake Planned Across SBI Clerical and Officer Roles
SBI chairman mentioned that they plan to recruit around 18,000 people across various categories, including 13,500 to 14,000 clerical staff, and about 3,000 probationary and local-based officers. He plans to recruit new professionals across various departments, including approximately 3,000 officers for key roles such as Probationary Officers (PO) and Local Bank Officers (LBO), offering a valuable opportunity for aspirants looking to build a career in banking.

The starting basic pay of SBI Clerk is INR 26,730 (INR 24050 plus two advance increments). The pay scale is INR 24050-1340/3-28070-1650/3-33020-2000/4-41020-2340/7-57400-4400/1-61800-2680/1-64480. The total starting emoluments of a Clerical Cadre employee payable at Metro like Mumbai is around INR 46,000 per month inclusive of D.A., other allowances at the current rate and two additional increments for newly recruited graduate junior associates. Allowances may vary depending upon the place of posting. The in-hand salary of SBI Clerk includes the approximate amount a candidate gets after the deductions. The starting salary of SBI Clerk is approximately INR 46000 in a metro city like Mumbai.

SBI PO salary is inclusive of multiple benefits and allowances that employees are liable to get. The revised basic SBI PO salary is INR 41,960. Besides, the basic SBI Scale 1 salary, candidates are also entitled to various allowances, perks and benefits. The post is of Junior Management Grade Scale-I. SBI PO pay scale is INR 36,000-1490/7-46430-1740/2-49910-1990/7-63840. The Gross compensation offered to candidates lies between INR 8.20 Lakhs (minimum) to INR 13.08 lakhs (maximum) per annum.
