SBI Clerk exam is conducted annually by the State Bank of India. The exam is conducted for selection of Junior Associate (Customer Support and Sales). Selected candidates are posted to the various branches of SBI spread throughout the country. SBI Clerk salary is INR 19,900 (INR 17,900 plus two advance increments admissible to graduates). Any graduate candidate who are between 20 and 28 years can apply for the exam. Relaxation in the age limit is provided to candidates belonging to different categories. SBI Clerk selection process comprises prelims and mains exams followed by language proficiency test. It is mandatory to clear the language proficiency test. Large number of vacancies are announced for the exam. Around 20 to 25 lakh candidates apply for the exam.

Candidates need to qualify the language proficiency test. The prelims exam of SBI Clerk comprises three sections- English Language, Numerical Ability, and Reasoning Ability. The total marks allotted to the test are 100. Candidates qualifying the prelims exam are called for the mains exam. The marks obtained in the prelims exam are not counted for final selection. The mains exam comprises English Language, Numerical Ability, and Reasoning Ability. The mains exam is conducted for 200 marks. Candidates qualifying the mains exam are called for language proficiency test. This test is qualifying in nature. In language proficiency test, candidates are assessed based on their ability to speak, write and read the local language of the state from where they have submitted the application form.

The SBI Clerk application form online link will be activated on the SBIs career portal. The direct link to fill the Junior Associate application will also be provided on this page once it is announced. The application fee payment can be done online, which is INR 750 for General & OBC. However, SC/ ST/ PWD/ XS category candidates are exempted from fee payment.

The exam pattern for SBI PO is different from SBI Clerk. Likewise, SBI SO exam pattern is different from the other two exams. SBI exam pattern highlights the overall structure of the exam. The exam pattern of various exams is discussed below in brief.

SBI PO

SBI PO exam pattern is divided into prelims, mains and Interview. The total marks of the prelims exam are 100. The main exam comprises both subjective and descriptive-type tests. The total marks for the mains exam are 250. The interview carries 50 marks. 

SBI Clerk

SBI Clerk exam pattern comprises the prelims exam and mains exam. The prelims exam carries 100 marks while the mains exam comprises 200 marks. 

SBI SO

SBI SO exam pattern follows different exam structures for different posts. For some posts, the online test comprises three sections, while for others there are four sections.

Q:   What is SBI Clerk negative marking?
A: 

There is a negative marking in the SBI Clerk exam. 1/4th mark assigned to a particular question is deducted as a penalty for wrong answers. For correct answers in the exam, candidates score one mark. The total marks of candidates are calculated based on the number of correct and incorrect answers. The corrected scores obtained by each candidate in different sessions of the exam are normalised using the equi-percentile method. Scores upto two decimal points are taken for the purpose of calculations. The marks of candidates are calculated as per marking scheme.
