SBI PO Vacancy 2026: The State Bank of India released the SBI PO Notification 2026 (CRPD/PO/2026-27/09) for the recruitment of a total of 1500 vacancies. The application was started on June 18 and ended on July 8, 2026. The vacancies are published for regular and backlog recruitments. Candidates are appointed on the basis of the number of vacancies in SBI Probationary Officer exam and also the performance of the candidates in the Mains and Interview and Group Exercises.

SBI PO Training Process
The training process of newly recruited SBI PO is given below:
- After joining to the post of SBI PO, candidates are on probation for two years
- During the probation, candidates are subject to continuous assessment, as per bank's extant policy
- Those candidates who qualify in the assessment as per standards determined by the bank from time to time, will be confirmed in the service of the bank in Junior Management Grade Scale-I (JMGS-I)
- During training, candidates are provided the basic knowledge through online course

The basic SBI PO salary is INR Rs 48,480/- (with 4 advance increments). The pay scale for Junior Management Grade Scale I is INR 48480-2000/7-62480-2340/2-67160-2680/7-85920. SBI PO Recruitment
The authority released the SBI PO recruitment notification for the Probationary Officer (PO) post. The selection of the candidates will be based on their performance in the prelims, mains and interview. It is crucial for a candidate to check the details including educational qualification, experience, how to apply, fee and more. The recruitment process for SBI Probationary Officers consists of 3 stages:
- Phase 1 – Preliminary Examination (Objective, Online)
- Phase 2 – Main Examination (Objective + Descriptive, Online)
- Phase 3 – Group Discussion (GD) + Personal Interview
The final merit list is based on the combined score of the Mains exam and the Interview. The Preliminary exam is qualifying in nature.

SBI PO eligibility is fixed by the examination authority. Graduation is required to apply for the exam. Candidates cannot appear after completing Class 12. The age for the exam is 21 and 30 years.
Presently, the starting basic pay is INR 48,480 (Plus 4 advance increments) in the scale of 48480-2000/7-62480-2340/2-67160-2680/7-85920 applicable to Junior Management Grade Scale-I. The official will be eligible for DA, HRA, CCA, PF, Contributory Pension Fund i.e., NPS, LFC, Medical Facility, Lease rental facility etc. and other allowances & perquisites as per rules in force from time to time. The approximate CTC at initial scale of at Mumbai Centre is INR 18.67 Lakh.
Few important points related to SBI PO vacancy are given below:
- SBI PO vacancy reserved for the OBC category are available only to the Non-Creamy Layer OBC
- Creamy Layer OBC candidates should indicate their category as General
- SBI PO vacancy for PWD category candidates are reserved horizontally
- PWD categories under clauses 'd' & 'e' of Section 34 (i) of RPWD Act 2016 are Specific Learning Disability (SLD), Mental Illness (MI), Multiple Disabilities (multiple disabilities amongst LD, VI, HI, SLD & MI)
