UPSC CSE Result 2024: Thirty-two candidates who received coaching and training at the Residential Coaching Academy (RCA) of Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) have been selected for the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2024. Out of the 78 RCA students who appeared for the interview round, 32 secured final selection, including 12 women candidates, highlighting the academy’s continued commitment to inclusive excellence.

Alfred Thomas Tops RCA List with AIR 33 in UPSC CSE 2024

Alfred Thomas, who secured All India Rank of 33, emerged as the top performer from Jamia Millia Islamia’s Residential Coaching Academy (RCA) this year. He is closely followed by Iram Choudhary with a rank of 40, and Ruchika Jha, who secured the 51st position. Expressing their delight over this outstanding achievement, JMI Vice Chancellor Prof. Mazhar Asif and Registrar Prof. Md. Mahtab Alam Rizvi extended their heartfelt congratulations to all RCA-trained candidates who successfully cleared the exam.

Out of the 32 selected candidates, several are expected to secure positions in the prestigious IAS and IPS cadres, while the others are likely to be allotted services such as IRS, Indian Audit and Accounts Service, IRTS, and other allied Group-A services based on their ranks and preferences.

VC JMI Prof Asif said, “It is a matter of tremendous pride and satisfaction that RCA JMI has achieved this remarkable feat.  Their success strengthens our commitment to empowering aspirants from geographically, economically, and socially marginalized sections of society. Our women candidates have performed exceptionally well and are role models not just for the future aspirants from RCA but for all the girls pursuing various courses at JMI.”

Established in 2010 by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under the aegis of the Centre for Coaching and Career Planning (CC&CP), Jamia Millia Islamia’s Residential Coaching Academy (RCA) was created to offer free coaching and residential support to students from SC, ST, minority communities, and women aspiring for civil services and other competitive examinations.

Admission to RCA is granted through a nationwide written test followed by personal interviews. Since its inception in 2010-11, RCA has successfully produced nearly 300 civil servants, including numerous officers in the IAS, IFS, and IPS. In addition, over 300 students have secured positions in various central and state services such as CAPF, IB, RBI (Grade B), APF, Bank PO, and PCS, among others.
