UPSC IES 2025 Exam: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is conducting the Indian Engineering Services (IES) Preliminary Examination 2025 today, June 8, 2025. This year, a total of 457 vacancies have been announced across disciplines such as Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, and Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering.

As per the schedule, IES paper I (General Studies) will be conducted from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM and will have a duration of 2 hours. Whereas, paper II (Engineering Discipline) will take place from 2 to 5 PM and will last for 3 hours.

Candidates are advised to arrive at their examination IES centres at least one hour before the commencement of each paper. Entry to the exam hall will close 30 minutes before the start of each session

Essential Items to Carry While Appearing for UPSC IES 2025 Exam

To ensure a smooth examination experience, candidates must bring the following items:

• Admit Card: A printed copy of the UPSC IES 2025 admit card is mandatory for entry.
• Valid Photo Identification: An original photo ID proof such as Aadhaar Card, Voter ID, PAN Card, Passport, or Driving License.
• Black Ballpoint Pen: Only black ballpoint pens are permitted for marking answers on the OMR sheet.
• If the photograph on the IES admit card is unclear or missing, candidates should carry two passport-sized photographs with their name and date printed on them for each session, along with an undertaking.

Prohibited Items at UPSC IES 2025 Exam

Candidates must refrain from bringing the following items into the examination center:

• Mobile phones
• Smartwatches or any electronic gadgets
• Calculators
• Books, notes, or any study material
• Bags

Important Guidelines for UPSC IES 2025 Exam

• They must reach the exam centre at least 60 minutes before the scheduled start time to complete security checks on time.
• They must wear simple attire and avoid clothing with large buttons or metallic items to facilitate smooth security screening.
• Only analog watches are allowed inside the exam hall. Digital watches, smartwatches, or fitness bands are prohibited.
• Any form of malpractice will result in immediate disqualification.
