SBI Clerk Vacancy 2026: The State Bank of India will announce the SBI Clerk vacancies 2026 along with the notification PDF on the official website at sbi.bank.in. It will be released state-wise and category-wise. A total of 6589 vacancies were published in 2025. SBI Clerk Vacancy
Both regular and backlog vacancies are filled through SBI Clerk recruitment. Candidates applying for vacancies of SBI Clerk in a particular state should be proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding the local language of the state. There is no provision for Inter Circle Transfer/Interstate transfer for Junior Associates to be recruited. Candidature of the applicant is considered only against the vacancies in the State for which he/she has applied/opted. SBI Clerk vacancy is released according to the manpower requirement in the organisation. SBI Clerk exam is conducted to select eligible candidates for the post of Junior Associate (Customer Support & Sales.

SBI Clerk Vacancy 2026: Important Points
Candidate of the applicant will be considered only against the vacancies in the State/UT for which he or she has applied. Candidate may appear in the examination from any notified Centre. However, he or she will have to appear for the test of specified opted local language at a Centre (to be decided by the Bank) of the State applied for, at his/her own expenses. Merit list will be drawn State wise, category wise and candidates will be posted in the State for which they are applying, in the event of their selection. The reservation policy for SBI Clerk vacancies is given below:
- Reservation for PWD/XS/DXS candidates is a horizontal reservation and is included in the vacancies of SBI Clerk of various parent categories
- 4.5 per cent of the total vacancies are reserved for Disabled Ex-servicemen and dependents of Servicemen killed in action, clubbed together
- During allotment, the first priority will be given to the Disabled Ex- Servicemen, and the second priority will be given to dependents of defense personnel killed in action or severely disabled (with over 50 per cent disability attributable to defence services)
- SBI Clerk vacancies reserved for OBC category are for OBC candidates belonging to Non-Creamy Layer
- Candidates belonging to OBC category but coming in Creamy Layer are not entitled to relaxation/reservation under this category. They should indicate their category as General or General (LD/ VI/ HI/ D&E) as applicable while filling SBI Clerk application form
Commonly asked questions
To be eligible for SBI Clerk exam, candidates should be between 20 and 28 years and have completed graduation in any discipline. Candidates who are in the final year of graduation can also apply for the exam provisionally. Relaxation in the upper age limit is given to candidates belonging to reserved categories. Candidates should check the SBI Clerk eligibility criteria before applying for the exam. The category-wise relaxation given to candidates is given below.

Candidates who are working in SBI in the Clerical cadre are not eligible to apply under this project. Candidates who were earlier employed in State Bank of India and resigned from the Bank while in clerical cadre will also be not eligible to apply for the post.

A total of 5486 vacancies were announced for SBI Clerk 2022. 5008 were regular and 478 were backlog. The details regarding the vacancies were announced along with the notification. Selection is done based on the vacancies.
SBI Clerk starting salary is INR 19,900. The4 revised payscale is INR 17900-1000/3-20900-1230/3-24590-1490/4-30550- 1730/7-42600-3270/1-45930-1990/1-47920. Candidates are also given various allowances. Recruitment is done based on the selection process.
